My computer randomly shuts off. what the fuck

usually when i listen to music (iTunes, Ares, or even Quicktime) my computer will restart after the first few minutes. other times, it just restarts. my audio card is hooked up to my receiver and my speakers and i was thinking the power might be blown because of that or something, but that wouldn't explain it just shutting off when i go to sleep or whatnot. what the fuck.

haha, the one that says something like memory dump, or like terminal system failure? so many times. one time i had to buy a new harddrive because it wouldn't start back up, but the past like 5 times i've seen it, i just had to hit the power button extra hard for some reason and it booted back up.

you'd be surprised to know i don't, yea its kinda weird, but i don't really look at it. i've also done many spyware checks and i run AVG virus scans or whatever. nothing really comes up.

if cpu is getting to hot it will reach its shut down point. it will shut down before the temperature gets to the point where it causes damage.

Yeah before you do buy anything, just unscrew the cover and blow all the dust out or use the compressed air stuff. Just incase it is just overheating.

dude i dout its the power supply, if it turns off after a long time or when doin things that are stessful its eather the video card or the ram, it could also be a registry promblem(spy ware and such) or maybe the powersupply

My computer kept shuting off when I listened to music or watched videos, and sometimes when I went on the internet. Our problem was a fried motherboard, but we just got a new computer, and we're going to replace the mother board on the other one so we have 2 computers. Get someone to check your motherboard.
