Me and a friend was skiing today, and we maked fun of the speed-gangsters in the slalom course. And we tried the course on their practice...and me and my friend have never skied slalom courses before...so we take huge speed and skiing the cousre...and then the slalom teacher wanted us on their team...like we whore the best slalom skiers ever--is it easy to be pro in slalom?. it sound so easy. i hate it and would never join their team
i've got a slalom comp for my high school next week that i made, but i've never raced slalom before except i practiced for one day with a friend last weekend so i'll have one day of experience going into it, it wasn't too bad actually it was kinda fun
going through slalom gates is easy... going fast, shinning and getting a good line are very hard. Most pros started racing around 3rd or 4th grade and they don't make it pro tell after college.
park/free skiing = far easier to become "pro" than racing
There are far more athletes at the highest levels of professional racing than freeskiing, and their support (national teams)is far superior...becomming a recognized viable pro-racer is exponentially harder than becomming the next grom with a video part
Ya, but in racing if you think too much you get fucked up. When i think too much while doing it, i either stradle a gait or totally miss it. so it sucks
going through a slalom course = easy
going through a slalom course = very hard
The little details that are involved are rediculous. Not starting your turn until you cross the rise line of the gate, trying to get off edge around the fall line etc....
