I don't understand the whole 'sellout' mentality on Moseley. He is a mogul and big-mountain skier. As far as I remember (and I could be wrong), his first 'freestyle' competition will be this winter's X-games. Do you see him making video segments trying to bust the hugest spins over 100-ft tables? No. He skis moguls. He doesn't try to go bigger than Jon or ski smoother than Skogan. He skis moguls and hits 2 jumps in them. He's trying to do new tricks off those 2 jumps, tricks inspired by a lot of his friends in the freestyle skiing arena. The fact that he is attempting to bring some progression to that sport (a sport that hasn't progressed in a good 15 years) gets him my respect.

He's making Joe Dumbass American realize that skiing as a sport has changed, that it's not all people in one-pieces and on neon skis. JDA has seen Ross Powers in the Olympics and heard his son (who went to ski club for the last few years) say 'Buy me a snowboard! They can do cool tricks!' Up until this point, JDA just rolls his eyes, says 'kids' and buys him a deck. Now, JDA says 'Wait a minute. I saw that Moseley guy doing tricks on skis. You've got a perfectly good pair of skis, now go do tricks on 'em.' This is the next generation of freeskiers. After we're all busted up and have no knees left and more concussions than Billy Bob, these kids are going to be the ones carrying the sport.

Yes, Moseley is making a little extra money off of name recognition. But how many of us can say we'd turn down money for some theoretical 'reputation' that a bunch of people with a whole lot less skill than you have of you? For those who say 'I'd never accept the money, ski for the love of it!', you obviously haven't had to pay bills yet. Starting out, being a professional skier is not a lucrative career. Jesus, look at Seth Morrison. He's one of the most recognized names in skiing, has a pro model ski from a prestigious company, and up until a couple years ago he shared an apartment with 3-4 of his fellow athletes and ate Ramen because it was too expensive to live on his own and eat out.

Bottom line: Moseley's making a living the best he can, and I don't give him an ounce of shit for it.

i agree with EmcEEmahEm. i'm not sure why everyone is hatin on moseley. he helped turned the sport of skiing into what it is today. i also think its cool how he is getting the word out about skiing. i dont think that is selling out, he just trying to get that sport bigger than it already is, and i dont think that is so bad.

as for the ski shirts, i got one, and i like it. it was going to cost me $15 to make one, so i just thought i would buy a real one for $3 more. i like it, but i also dont hate on moseley like the rest of you guys.

First off you guys are entitled to your own opinion and i respect you for saying what you think. I and a few other people just simply disagree on something that dosn't effect any of us that much.

moseley is as true to moguls as greatsky is to hockey.
saying moseley is a newschooler is like saying greatsky is a pro baseball player.
because of moseley, mogul comps are twice as dutty, and little kids are finally starting to see that skiing is just as good if not cooler than snowboarding. and when you reach his age you start realizing, im not gonna be skiing that much longer, so if mtv starts handing you cash to sit on your ass and host a show, i think your gonna do it to. all the power to moseley. and this winter, i will actually look forward to watching mogul comps
