OutofBounds Manager is a DICK

Anyways, about 2 weeks ago i ripped the brake so bad out of my rossingnol binding I destroyed about half the binding. After I finished crying, I took it to a local shop, the one i visit alot, (Sundance) to get it looked at, and repaired if it was possible.

They told me that it was beyond repair, and to take it to the shop I bought it from, OutOfBounds, and to have them deal with sending it in, or give their advice.

The moment i showed the OutOfBounds owner, he said that it was broken, he wasnt going to send it in to rossingnol for warrenty, because there was NO chance at all in gettign it repaired. He then advised me to buy a new set of wide brakes and try to fix the problem myself, or two look for a new heelpiece, because there was NO way he'd even try sending it in.

Now, as pissed as i was with the OutOfBounds owner, I quickly left and returned to SunDance, explaining the situation. SunDance told me they'd sed it in for me.

It has been a good 10 days, and Vern, the ski ninja who works at SunDance gave me a call today to tell me that Rossignol has warrentied my Scratch 140 and replaced it with THIS years binding.
Kinda funny how the OutofBounds owner told me there was NO chance of warrenty, and then told me to buy some of his product.

Now, the point of this story is DO NOT, by any means buy anything from OutOfBounds, the manager is a DICK, and he doesn't give a shit about anything other than money. I believe Matt Hennig had the same problem but with a pair of skis, about 2 years ago, and the OutOfBounds owner didnt do shit all.

My Advice is to boycott OutOfBounds, and shop at shops that at least show some appreciation to riders like Skiers, Sundance and Pacesetter.

Thanks for the heads up. Happened to me right at the end of season last year. I couldn't get it warrentied before camp, so I just rode brakeless with an almost broken heel piece. It worked out well and when I got back Steve from FRESH pretty much got the whole thing warrentied right away. It just took the heel piece awhile to come in but it was all great and done up in about 4 and half minutes. But yeah, I commemorate you and offer my condolances to the owner of OutOfBounds.

the exact same thing happend to me, my brake didn't snap off when it should have and my binding broke. i think they tried to fix it on the new binsings so the break wont get caught in the first place

Dude, thats NOTHING!

I had just bought new bindings from Out of Bounds and a week later, the track was all messed up and the heel piece kept moving back. So I went to Out of Bounds, and just asked if they could fix it.
The manager, Kevin took it back and started looking at it and then came back.
The first thing he said was, "You remounted these and did it wrong. Whoever remounted these screwed up, and I won't warrenty them for you."
Guess who mounted them for me, and only once. Out of Bounds.
So obviously they tried mounting them, screwed it up, tried remounting them again, and screwed that one up too.
I lost it on Kevin and told him they were the only ones who had touched those skis, and that they owed me new skis and bindings. He was beyond reason and just denied it all, saying it was me who mounted them again after they had and fucked it up.

I wouldnt never buy anything from there again, and would certainly never let them touch my stuff.

^Oh, and before that story, I had just gotten some Line skis, rode them about 5 days at Rabbit, avoided rails and was mostly riding the mini pipe when I noticed they started delamming under the boot. Took em to Kevin, he told me it was from rail damage, I showed him how there was absolutly zero marks from any kind of rail, rock, or anything else; the base and edges were still in perfect condition since I hadnt hit any rails.
He said he'd call Line and see what they said. He came back a few minutes later and said they wouldnt warrenty them for me.

Coincidently, a few weeks later I was going to Vermont. I called the Line head office and they said that it wouldnt be a problem for me to get new ones, and that they hadn't ever recieved a call from Kevin at Out of Bounds.

You guys should actually email him with this stuff and also perhaps send him the link to this thread. This guy sounds like a complete crook to me and he no longer deserves to be in business. Also, everyone that has had a problem, and a serious one, should report it to the Better Business Bureau and if they get enough reports, they may actually look into him. That's my advice, because if what you guys all say is fully true, he is definatly screwing you around.

Yeah for FRESH, a shop that cares.

he sounds like a real asshole. I like fresh but i still say ski cellar is the best. They really care, no matter what kind of skiing you do.

im not a big fan of ski cellar they have a bunch of exracer homo ass salesmen who barely ski and dont know what theyre talking about well i can only think of one and his name is Cairo or something fucking gay

actually... you should all shop at ski cellar, they will really go out of the way for you... Ski Cellar is the shit and they have been doing the whole ski store thing for over 50 years. Do it

Steve from fresh is really good. My dad took my chronics in which were delaminating. He said I could choose from any ski around the same price because they didn't have any chronics left. He then gave me an awsome deal on some fujatives ($300)and look px10's (150) and gave me a pair of crichtons for free. He mounted them that night even though the shop was officially closed. The only complaint I have was I asked for the fujatives to be mounted 2cm back from center and he mounted them back from core center not true center.

Panzieman,

Glad you are happy with your new setup. I am familiar with true centre. Core centre is specific to K2s from what I've seen and cord centre is something that doesn't get used anymore (precisely because of twinned tip skis). I can't recall specifically about your skis but with K2's (the first company to use they different markings) we always assume the most conservative mounting point. Sorry if we didn't get it the way you wanted it.

Same thing teneightys delamed half way through the season 2 years ago. out of bounds said they couldn't send it in because it was abused. took it to pacesetter and jim got the waranty and because they were out of that years already i got the next years. I have had a bunch of teneighty bindings break out of bounds says that they were abused and wouldn't send them in, pacesetter had a brand new one every time. Dirty dreb and another friend of mine have had two bindings pull out of brand new 4fronts I think from using the wrong screws,
