Heres a lil tidbit of info for you... apparently(correct me if im wrong).. skiing started a long time ago when loggers who were up high in a mountain logging were to lazy to walk to the bottom.. so they would strap wood to there feet and slide down in the snow.. thats how downhill skiing was created...
or because cc skiers (cc skiing was invented almost 4000 years ago and such) just realized it was a lot more fun to go down the hills then up them and down them then they thought wouldnt it be sweet if we could just sit down on something and it would take us up the hill
Well it really started out as transportation for people who lived and worked in the snow...a long time ago...I dunno if they were loggers, but It was way long ago...probabally like 800 to 1200 years ago. And of corse going downhill was easyer, and way more fun than going up. I just wonder who was the first dude to ever catch air, on purpose or not...?
Sonre Norheim Was the man who invented the telematk landing, so they could land safely in pow, he than perfected it to the point of making it sutable for turnin. He was a HCMF, and had presented it on a skijumpong contest in Oslo, to wich he had to walk for like 2 days. O jea, he won it.
