i really feel sorry for the people who died in this storm but I really have some problems with the leaders in these states I think its insane that in the 21st century we still have fatalities from the weather. you'd think from technology and planning we could avoid all this lose.

Well, figuring that they had to evacuate all of New Orleans, I would say that they have done a damn good job.

Any death toll through disaster is devastating and tragic, but I too am amazed that the numbers aren't exponentially higher. Had it happened it any 3rd world country, they would have been.

yea its crazy...number dead woulda been around 500 or more i bet if it hit directly in new orleans...they said it coulda been under 20 feet of water instead of like 10

wow, I was at my boyfriends and his mom turned on the tv and i thoguht it was a movie until i looked and it was cnn wowzer, glad it didn't happen near toronto or near ottawa, but that really sucks

its alot higher than 56 now. In one county alone theres over 100 dead. I heard a couple facts like 80% of new orleans is under water and between new orleans and mississippi, i guess they said 90% of the buildings within like a half mile of the shore or something are completely gone, not highly damaged, just not there anymore.
