yeah its just very very rare compared to a windows pc
Does it annoy anybody that the first trick landed in Not Another Ski Movie WAS SEVEN AND A HALF FUCKING MINUTES INTO THE MOVIE???????????????? i paid for a ski movie... not a tour of a lightbulb factory
the mac operating system is really complicated. theres not many virus's and when one is found they upgrade the system which you download for free on your computer. its pretty fucken bombproof. and for some reason macs get way less pop ups then dells.
almost imposible. why? no gay ass nerds write virus's for anything other than PC. and yes mac issues a virus update all the time, i have never gotten one, and have had about 10 pop up ads ever.
so worth it not hhaving to deal with all that gay shit

the pop ups exploit internet explorer. Firefox under windows is basically the same internet experience you get on a mac.
Macs/Linux (I group them together, because they're based off unix, and if you do it right are almost exactly alike......... Macs just have a prettier GUI, but there are linux clones..... anyway)
Macs/Linux are cool, but I don't like using them day to day........ I've grown up on windows, and know how to fix anything in windows......... I'm not that confident with *nix boxes yet.
But those G5's with the HUUUUUUGE mac LCD flatpanels are AMAAAAZING for photoshop. That LCD has more space on it than my dual monitor rig, and at a higher resolution to boot....... Got to play with those at an art workshop this summer.

macs are sweet ..we have 3 and never got a virus once. never had to take it to get fixed . im getting a lap top soon. once u get one ull never go back. we keep ours running for months at a time and hardly ever shut them down unlike a pc that u need to restart like 5 times a day
I just bought a 15inch powerbook upped to the max. It is AWSOME. I just made the switch from pc and i dont think ill ever go back. I still like pc but the GUI (graphical user interface) is soo much nicer...its just more fun to use. But be forewarned, you can waste HOURS on these computers just screwing around, they are way fun to play with.
^well it's kinda the same concept as a Gameboy screen. What Im getting at, is that a Gameboy screen is really fuckin tiny, but if you are really into the game then you get sucked into it and don't even notice that it's small.....same concept with laptops. you aren't going to be dissapointed by the "tiny" 15-inch screen. you just get sucked into it and don't even notice.
DO NOT GET THE 17 INCH. Its such a monster that it defeats the point of being a laptop, belive me, with all the keyboard commands and hot corners that they have on a mac, their is plenty of screen space for everything

Ok, First, look at the two factors that cause email viruses and worms to propagate: social engineering, and poorly designed software. Social engineering is the art of conning someone into doing something they shouldn't do, or revealing something that should be kept secret. Virus writers use social engineering to convince people to do stupid things, like open attachments that carry viruses and worms. Poorly designed software makes it easier for social engineering to take place, but such software can also subvert the efforts of a knowledgable, security-minded individual or organization. Together, the two factors can turn a single virus incident into a widespread disaster.
Let's look further at social engineering. Windows software is either executable or not, depending on the file extension. So if a file ends with ".exe" or ".scr", it can be run as a program (yes, of course, if you change a text file's extension from ".txt" to ".exe", nothing will happen, because it's not magically an executable; I'm talking about real executable programs). It's easy to run executables in the Windows world, and users who get an email with a subject line like "Check out this wicked screensaver!" and an attachment, too often click on it without thinking first, and bang! we're off to the races and a new worm has taken over their systems.
