Corked zero spin? oh yes

check out the last page of SKEEZE magazine in the k2 ad of Andy Mahre zeroing pyramid. it only shows the first half, but if you look on the left page (its a 2 page spread) you will indeed notice that andy mahre is in a somewhat corked position on the last full frame.

i guess you could sort of think of a cork as a backward tweak of a spin...maybe...

his body is almost in line with his feet. maybe it was just a split second thing in the film but in the sequence it looks corked

oh yeah, cork 180s are possible, I've seen them everywhere! O wait, no, I've never seen one, heard of one, or seen one on film or in a picture. If it was possible, I think someone somewhere would have done it.

A cork is an off axis trick. if you dont spin, there is no axis to be off of.

you could do a cork 180 on a step up....

but andy marhe did not do a cork zero. he just did a backscratcher style safety. i dont consider a tweak, cork.

well i understand where you are coming from, but i have seen them in person. eric hjorleifson and matt sterbenz were both doing them in whistler a few summers ago at COC.

it is possible to do corked 180's...well, switch cork 180's anyhow. i did one by accident. i have to find the tape. ill post when i find it. it wasnt really corked./..more off axis

i talkedd to a kid who does it about that, and he said that they can rev the engine (not fully sure) and it changes the bikes position in the air, allowing them to go way off and then come back again, so i don't really think you could do the same thing on skis

For the whateverith time, a cork 180 is not possible. Physics, at least with in the realm skiing will always be in, will not allow it. The only way it could be done is if you went so sooo sooo big that you do the 180, corked, and then use your body and air resistance properly to adjust yourself back into an upright position.

you can definately do sicknasty off axis 180s but it really depends how you define "corked"

i once did a corked 180, it was by an acident, and i landed kinda sideward on one ski, but i landed it. (it was on a powder jump) i guess it was all just luck that i didn't bail, but w/e
