i think he meant bigger tail, because the 1080's tip is bigger than the scratch's. the salomon rep said that he used the 1080's for a week in utah and they went through everything, including 30 in. of fresh, but just from flexing them in the shop, i can tell they are super soft, so they won't do well in crud. Otherwise, they are super light, fat enough to do pow, and have a nice swing weight because of the spaceframe tech. i don't know much about the rossi, but i hear it's sick too, and the dimensions are really close and i imagine the flex is too. basically, go with whatever you're comfortable with, you'll be happy either way. personally, i'd go with the rossi because it has some wood in the core so it will behave better, all foam cores can break down with heavy use, like 90+days
