DBQ: Graffiti

Hey guys, need some help

got a mini project due for ap us history and it is make your own DBQ (document based question). Since there is much hype about graffiti recently, i choose this question "Graffiti is art. Defend or refute." Problem is i need 10 documents minimum. 5 supporting, 5 against. if you guys might be able to waste some of your idle time (your on newschoolers.com, so im assuming you have some) and post a document i can use with the name of the source, website, etc... i would be eternally grateful. hey, we are a brotherhood here at ns.com, and i need some help.

there is no questions that it an art, that is oviously, it take some extreem talent. The only reason it is "shunned" upon is because people do it on places where it shouldnt be. It is going to be hard to find those 5 saying that it isnt an art, good luck though

i am a graffiti artist, and everyone who see my art thinks this insane and good the only problem is all the people who like it are younger, and all the older people think it is a crime because graffiti is a new kind of art, and the art that older people are used to is landscape an stuff like that....but i definatly think it takes real talent to do graffiti, if you have ever tryed it , it takes alot of practice to get something just right...anyways hope this helps you out a little bit.....good luck

i had to do a project like that for ap euro, and there were sites where u could go and they just had tons of documents on all sorts of stuff. i'll see if i can find them again.

graffiti can be one of the most elaborate and talented art's there is. It's superior sophistication is unparalleled by any other type of art. I am a graf artist and defend the FACT that graf is art.

here this is a passage from one of my friends hes a really good writer " ok im tired of here a whole bunch of toys try to tell me graffiti is art, personally i think graffiti is vandlism.... im out for the distruction and getting my name up not to do art.... i see nothing artist about scribles on electrical boxes and tosses on people personal stuff... dont get me wrong graffiti take up a BIG part in my life but yea...

graffiti stoped being art once it was taken out of the ghettos where it made it the dark depressing broken down walls ect into something colorful and gave kids hope and somthing to do instead of gang banging ect...
