Base glow?

how do the bases of some skis glow like yellow or green or white? ive always wondered how they do that, is it like glow in the dark or somethin?

White reflects light very very well. When light is reflected off of a very neon color base, that color is also reflected very well. The snow is basically acting like a mirror... only not nearly as well.

that would look so sweet at night. like u go off a jump thats not realy lighted well then u just see these spining lights that are in the shape of an X

^Base glow is when the snow reflects off the neon bases. It wouldn't work at night

Well, I have a pair of old 205cm k2's and when you lift your foot off the snow, the snow lights up. It pretty sweet

my pistols have a pink glow coming from the tips and tails and green form the sidewalls all the way around them. it looks pretty sick.

get those rope light things (they're waterproof too) and find some way to battery operate them, then run them around the outside of the topsheet.

it might be one ball jay that used to make a neon glow wax that made the snow all green so like if u hittting a jump at night u can follow ur same line

If u started from scratch making the skis u could install fiber optic lighting to ur bases only problem is a battery source and mount point

im leaning twoards the rope lights taped on to my skis. and i would need like a car battery attached to them. the battery would be in my backpack or somethin.

they make battery powered ones and i guess a nine-volt battery or 2 double A's(can't remember) keep them going for a while. some people use them on christmas trees and they last most of the time they have them up.
