Mounting bindings-what do do after the holes are drilled

so after the holes for the bindings have been drilled and everything, is all you need to do is put some wood glue in the holes and crank the bindings down or what? Also if ive had a set of bindings off the ski for a while and im going to put them back on should i just add glue again and screw them down? thanks

what you described is correct. and yes, glue is definitely important if you want to put them back in the same holes. Make sure they go in easy though, you don't want to strip the grooves that are already there from the first drilling, or you bindings will rip out really easily

I would just cough up the dough and have a shop do it. Bindings are too important to your skiing and overall safety to be hacking away in your basement.

i have the shop drill the holes, they do it for 10 bucks and i do the rest, otherwise they charge 30

if there is metal in the skis they need to be tapped with a 4.1 tap. other wise you are corect.

they're just rossi power 120s, they charge like 35 bucks or somethin for a binding mount and what not but ive been goin to the same shop forever so i just talked to the guy and was like listen you wanna just drill the holes for me and i can do the rest and he was like ya i can do it for like 10 bucks

the whole tapping things is really bullshit, if your using old holes id recomend you just toss some steel wool in with the glue/epoxy, and youll be fine...insurance testing wise the holes are independant of the way the holes are drilled since the holes were put in with the jig on them. The worst thing that can happen is they rip out and you have to pay to get them drilled again. Its not a big deal.

i've never in my entire life payed for anything done in the shop. and better yet, i've never really don't anything to my skis myself. they do it all for freee.

haha same with me. the guys at the shop are my friends, and i get hooked up all the time with wax jobs and grinded edges and whatnot. but its tight.

haha, dude i know enough about bindings to set them myself and set the dins and everything properly, plus im not 21 so it would be kinda wierd if i brought the guy beer
