Bruising your heels

i bruised my heels casing a 40-50 ft step down at a place were its hard to get enough speed. so, does any1 know how long it takes to heel?

that depends on how fast you want it to heal. if you dont ski and stay off it, it will heal pretty quick, like a week or two. if you are like me, and bruise your heel the second day of your week long ski trip, ski the rest of the 4 days, and then ski every chance you can for the rest of the season, it wont get better til after ski season is over. i havent skiied in over two weeks and its still bruised, but thats because i added to the injury every day i skiied.

i did the same thing. thought i could ski on it again in a week with some hardcore painkillers, WRONG. fucked it up worse and i wasnt able to jump or hit rails for three weeks after that.

my little brother took 2 weeks off and still couldnt ski last weekend. i hope you didnt hit as hard as he did because he is getting x rays today because he can still barely walk.

a little more then 2 weeks till its feels better but if your willing to suck up the pain you can jump in a week but just dont fall or case

ya i cased too...off one of the VT jumps, my heel's been bruised for like 2 weeks now adn I can walk on it (finally) and hit some rails and do pipe(which is the easiest), as far as jumping tho it definately hurts the most. Maybe if you land switch all the time you could jump, keep the weight off ur heels.

I'm gonna try and jimmy rig some foam padding in the heel of my boot for cushioning...

oh ya aleve does good too for the pain

Good Advice: Stay the fuck off of it!!! it will never get better if you don't. if you need to be on it, i reccomend a heel cup.

I crushed mine the second day on a three week trip to coloado and utah. I couldn't walk, i got gel pads and put them in. It was the worst pain every day, but I wanted to ride out west. You can suck it up, but i wouldn't do many jibs. Like everyone else said, rest is your best answer.

i went 55 feet on a 60 footer and it takes about 2 weeks for it to be 100%

ive bruised my heels before but cracked my growth plate 2 tiems this season...i wasnt able to walk for a few days. but the growth plate in your heel will take 4-6 weeks depending how much you stay off of it. mine was like 80% at the vt open which was about 5 weeks after i did it and i cracked it again.

i did the same, but it was a week after i went to the doctors so i was walkin around school for 2 weeks hurtin, and i did it a week before mammoth !

I have a feeling my binding will break much sooner than my heel will get bruised/broken... I once wayy overshot a skiiercross roll (like i didn't absorb it at all) and landed on the flat/just before uphill next roller which was fucking bone jarring, but my binding broke and it absorbed most of the shock ^_^

yea i cased hard one upon a time.

it looked like i was doing the crip walk back to the lodge, i was a fucking mess. it ended my day.

took a bout a week of walking like a gimp and i was fine thereafter.

now i spot jumps.

^ i even spotted, just the place i was at was a fucking hill, not a mountain a hill, the places name was hilltop. so even bombing the whole hill i still cased
