BETTY DOES DULUTH
Armed with a satellite navigation system that would make NASA jealous, the L1P-mobile was prepped to make a hearty rail escapade up north. A hot tip was dropped by locals earlier on Newschoolers.com that a potential rail mecca lay untouched in a chilly little city named Duluth. Yes, guided by the sweet voice of our electronic tour guide “Betty, there was no jib feature to be left untouched in the land of 10,000 rails – I mean lakes – Minnesota, USA. Without time to waste, a crew of urban destroyers was quickly assembled. “High Five stars Travis Redd and Craig Coker along with whiz kid John Spriggs all saddled up to see what kind of job the Duluth city workers had done on supplying civilians with staircase stability security. Apparently they are very concerned with providing the people of Duluth staircase safety, considering the massive hill the town is built on, because the urban handrailage is plentiful. Thanks to Josh Beasley, Andrew Featherstone and their respective crews it was a matter of choosing which to do of the many gems they had so graciously shown us.
A short drive was all that was necessary to scout some keepers. It was decided that the attack would include, among other things, a giant 5-kink concrete ledge, a 40 foot flat to drop setup which stood 15 feet off the ground, an 8-kink man-eater and of course a slew of double-kinkers. All of which, no doubt, lead to some fine still and moving images. Some of the most ridiculous urban ski footage was even captured via an MTV-style swinging crane, of which you’ll surely see plenty of in fall ’05 L1P release, “Shanghai Six. Until then, enjoy the photos! – Garrett B.""""
