Listen to me.
Go to your local shop with the following things already decided:
1. How much you want to spend
2. What you're looking for in a boot
After you know that, you can help the salesman help you.
Only go to a qualified shop that does custom bootfitting. This includes setting up your boot to fit you, custom footbeds, lean/canting adjustments, grinding of shells, cutting, etc. Basically, make sure your shop knows their shit.
Tell the clerk how much you want to spend and what you are going to use the ski for. He'll find you something that should work.
Between the Diablo and 1080...well it obviously comes down to fit, but the Diablo is 10000 times better than the 1080. The 1080 boot has a cheap liner and super duper soft flex.
I say pony up and get the Diablo Magnesium...I love mine.
