Why dont PS1 games save on ps2

i know i was so pissed when i discovered they don't save!! i don't want to go buy another system but i think tey should make some sort of a memory card so i can play my ps1 games and actually be able t save them

use a ps1 memory card instead of trying to save the game on a ps2 memory card

yeah.. you have to use ps1 mem cards with ps1 games. ps2 games with ps2 mem cards. they go hand in hand.
