how are new 1080s in powder

i am thinking about buying new 1080s but i herd they suck in powder. we dont even got a park so i was wondering if i should get those or scratch bc. any help

They aren't too bad. If the pow isn't too deep then they're okay. I hate the Pocket Rocket. Rode the 181 1080 in about 30cms of pow and it was alright. I personally think the skogens handled it better. You'd probably find the scratch bc's better than the 1080s for sure, maybe look at the AK Enemy or something as well. Tell ya what, the V explosive is a very very nice ski, tried that as well, the 03 one is ugly as hell but it rides pretty damn good.

The '03 model is as fat as the scratch BC so it should be pretty sweet, alot better than the '02 models.

Are the 03 1080s as fat as the Scratch BCs?? I thought the BC was a fat as ski. It seemed about the same as the FS.

the 03 1080s are supposed to suck real bad in powder but i haven't skied 'em so i wouldn't know.

So, basically, the BC's are no good in the park? So, if I'm looking for a ski that can handle park and pow, should I go w/ the 1080's because it handles both well? And some say the 03 1080's suck in pow and some say it is ok. who knows for real? I have been riding on the 01 1080's and they are fine in pow. how much different are the new ones?

They are fairly different. I all round pretty much didn't like them at all. dude, never buy a ski without trying it out first, it's just silly.

K2 enemies are supposed to be good in powder, and you can get them for around 250-300. the bc and the pocket rocket have the same dimensions basically. the 1080 is fatter this year, like a 114 tip and 80 waist so it should be decent.

enemys are pretty sick, but delam delam delam. The only good skis in really deep pow are usually skis with above 82mm wastes. Don't go with pocket rockets, they feel kinda clunky in the air, plus they are blue noodles. Volkl makes em pretty good, and so does the atomic stomp. Scratches i hear are pretty good as well, but the 03 1080's, they do look sweet, i never tried them, but from pow experts, not the best. If ure heavy, ie above 170 pound, it will suck ass

Enemies ARE a great ski, just they delam, but you get awesome warrenty coverage, plus they might give you public Enemies if you break em after they cancel the Enemy.
