Subject: how do you get to chad's from the bottom of alta?
january 8th - 15th ish me and a few friends are gonna be out in alta. need to know how to get to chads gap from alta base, or whether or not its possible to ski to it.

go to the uppermost parking lot and you will see a gate and you hike from there

I mean the conditions have to be perfect. There's a reason it hasn't been hit in 4 years, even by pros.
You have to deal with the local crews who are territorial.
You have to have some damn good jump building expertise and put in at least three full days just to build the jump.
You have to realize that coming up short may very well break your back.
And this is off the top of my head. I'm sure a Utah local could give you any even bigger list of reasons.

dude.. sage, gagnier, thall, and pollard all hit it last year.. along with travis rice and romain di something.. what are you talking about it hasnt been hit in 4 years
fuck that, we built and hit pyramid in the same day. chads is only 30 feet bigger. i would say a full day of building chads would be nice, but you dont have to deal with locals. and obviously there needs to be snow on the landing, but as long as its soft, thats all you need.

uppermost parking lot, opposite side of alta parking lot, then hike up to a few houses, go a little more past the houses, and go left. there should be a bootpack by know. and you cant miss chads, you walk right through it. go a little ways further and theres pyramid

Mark Frank is a pussy, My buddy Dean Deleone beat the shit out of him in Park City's Park two years ago(even though some snowboard publication said MFM won). he is a fake ass gangsta and is bad for all snow sports.
As for Grizzly Gulch; it is not hard to find just go to Alta and find it. To those of you who gave up the beta, shame on you. If this guy is serious about going up there, he could find someone to show him once he was at alta. But trust me dude, you want no part of Chad's. It is hugh and too much work, plus there is really good terrian to ski in Grizzly Gulch, so stay the fuck away.

The inrun is insanly hard to pack without a cat, not to mention if your physics are off just a bit you'll eat it. Mack Dawg is usually there when the conditions allow, and I can promise you that you won't be chilling with them.

Yeah dude im a local and I doubt I would try it any time soon. Its so fucking burly. And yeah dylhole was right it is only 30 feet longer than pyramid but pyramid is soooo much easier to hit, chads gap you hit a huge compression before you go off. Pyramid just sort of levels out for a while...still a compression but no where near the sorts you get at chads. There is no way you and your buddies are going to be able to hit it, I strongly suggest you just pick a new jump instead of wasting a few days out here trying to do chads.

There is some awesome terrain up there, last week was my first time checking it out and i was blown away. I've hit some big gaps in my day but chads takes it to a whole new level.
