i don't have any car knowledge, but my mom had one of these (a 1990) until a few years ago. It's a cool car for sure but paying for gas might end up being a bitch cause hers got about 7-8mpg and it was stock as far as I know.

the fact that it is an 89', and has 150,000 miles on it isn't something i would buy. not because the guy took bad care about it, but thats an old car with a lot of miles on it. just something to think about. and gas...

it looks like the front is sagging a little bit it would probably need new springs and shocks, 150k is not that great and i would check for frame rust because the rust bad. I bought a 91 wrangler with 96k for the same price and lets just say the jeep gets newer everyday i drive it

$1900s a little steep for that imo, but you said you'd offer lower, so I dunno, sounds alright.

Offer 1000... barter to 1200 if your really want it. I wouldn't pay more.

i would be leery because of the "clunking" the jeep has. Could be a transmission or a rod or nothing. take a look at it and test drive it. Talk to the guy a lot and talk it down.
and i am curious to see this wooden interior roof, that would be pimpin

That is not at all a lot of miles for a 20 year old car. That works out to 7,500 miles a year.

150,000 miles is a lot of miles so be weary of that but make sure to go look at it beforehand and ask if you can have a mechanic look over it before you buy it

no way dude. you can do better than that. my first jeep that i bought about 5 years ago i got for 2500 and it was 90 jeep cherokee 5 speed 90,000. it was sick as fuck but after i dropped the transmission twice i bought another one this past summer at an auction for 1900 and its a 93 jeep grande cherokee loaded with about 102,000 runs perfect. do your research and shit man. its possible to find a way dank deal. my dad found that one at the auction and even though we had to drive about an hour just to go it was way worth it only one other guy was bidding on it.

dude if you want that i would buy it asap, because i know a guy on an XJ forum that is about to buy it soon. if i had the money i would hop on that because those are great trucks. i wish i had held out and bought one instead of my XJ. they are great off road even stock if you just toss some good tires on them and stick some skids under it.
i say go for it. and 1500000K is not alot for a jeep, engines and drivetrains on the older ones are built like tractors. they last forever as long as you keep up on maintenance.

but like, how could it be your actual dream car??
my dream cars never gonna be anything but a sick AWD coupe, like a GTR, or on the lower spectrum, maybe something more rally tuned, like a fully set up EVO IV or something
or a offroad truck... one of the new f150 SVT raptors.. fucking fox suspension, bitch can take a 911 targa in a drag apparently...
or a lambo.

It solid if your willing to deal with the little fixes and quirks that come with an older vehic. It will have dana 44 axles and a manual tcase which are soild. The engine will run forever with routine matinence and it certainly can be a snow machine. I build trucks, I am currently building a rock crawler. Wagoneers are solid platforms to start and will be a cool ski hill/daily driver. Like anything work down the price a little but if thats your dream car, go with it. Waggys are solid.

I think that you should learn how to spell "appreciated"
As for the truck...
I would stay away. As everyone else has said...old+high miles+appears to be in rougher shape = spending a ton of money to fix frequent problems.
It's an old, ugly POS.

Im in Connecticut, dont pay that much thats ridiculous. Use searchtempest.com lets you search craigslist so much easier and in your area. Also check out neow.org even though its more new england. And consider Isuzu corporate 12 bolts for an axle. Increasingly popular jeep swap came with 4.56 gears stock. Or the good old ford 8.8. Good luck dude

150,000 Miles is pretty good for an '89. Especially a large SUV that has probably seen a lot of road trips. You're probably going to end up replacing some stuff in it, but if you barter down It'd definitely be a good buy.
Jeepin' in a Wagoner is so straight. It's also just a nice looking vehicle. If I was near NH I'd buy that so fast.

for how old it is there are very little miles on it and it seems pretty good
just try to bargin it with him a little bit and see if you can lower it, and when you go to check it out bring someone who knows a lot about cars and just inspect the whole thing and see if theres anything seriously wrong with it

You'd be looking at about $3000 to do that to it, new axels, well over 6.5" of lift.
It's more then worth it though.
One thing you will want to check out is the frame rust. The body and interior look flawless on that wagnoeer, but I bet the frame rust is considerable. It's not the end of the world if it's rusty, just gonna require some love be put into it before you throw a lift on her.

no. thats a simple lealf spring lift. nothing to it, its cheap as hell actually. and the axles that come on that truck can probably handle 37's stock (frnt and rear D44's) all he would really need to run a lift/tires like that would probably be SYE and new driveshafts, and maybe even gearing in the axles but thats not quite as important as the others.

My dad has a 1988 one of these and he loves it. He put a big V8 (401) in and it has around 300 hp. Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetors also help. But it is a tank and i highly recommend it unless there is any rust
