I am usually really against design contests because I think they are a lame excuse for a lack of creativity on a company's part, but this one seems actually legit given the amount of stuff you win. I just remember Rossi doing one and totally fucking all the kids who won. They basically got free designs out of it.
Overall though, they always come off as pathetic to me. This one looks decent though.
Either way this is one of the better pro websites I have seen.

If you win, you will get credit for the design, and you will be able to use it to promote yourself. However, Coreupt.com will own the rights to the design for obvious legal reasons and you will not be able to re-sell the design.

I've already designed an entry for this contest, and I really hope I can enter it, because I'm really stoked on what I was able to come up with. However, as long as the fine print doesn't change, I will not enter.

THAT GRAPHIC IS AWESOME! I want that on my skis. The different shades of blue and the design that's both attention grabbing and obscure is so cool. Good job on that.
Obsessedwski, I took a closer look and that really looks a lot like something Prior might want to buy off you for next season. They have a design for this season which they call the Haida Eagle and they offer it on their skis and boards as you can pick a top-sheet from different options. Prior is a Whistler company that is fairly small, but I think they'd love to buy that design because it compliments the native style while changing it up.

I don't think changing the fine print in that way changes anything. You still don't retain ownership of your design, nor are you financially compensated for it. But that's not important to everyone, its still a cool idea. unfortunately, it will probably drive away the most talented and capable individuals.

Well if you actually knew how much work goes into designing something, you wouldn't be saying that. I spend at minimum 10 hours on a design from research to planning it out etc.
Where are you getting this info from? $400 for a design is dirt cheap, Faction paid out $500 for their design contest plus a pair of skis. If indeed K2 pays their designers that poorly (which I highly doubt) I'm surprised K2 gets graphics to put on their skis year after year.
The average design cost for a T-shirt can be anywhere from 150 to 500 plus royalties, depending on company size and the production rate. For skis, especially big brands like K2 where they're producing skis numbering in the thousands, its totally fair to be charging $1500, 2000. I think other designers here will back me up on that. Again, it depends from work to work and I'm not saying that I would charge every company $2000 for a ski design, but I think what I said originally is fair.
I suggest you research a bit about what you post beforehand.
