Subject: Just Found Fentanyl in Stepdad's garage
What the fuck do I do?
My mom, who defends him to the death (that he isn't abusive/alcoholic/an asshole) would only accuse me of buying it to frame him, so telling her would do nothing.
I could confront him directly, but mingling in his trade could result in violence (I know he deals other opiates).
I could take photo evidence, keep it until I turn 16, and use it against him in a court, get emancipation and move in with my grandmother/uncle.
I could destroy it.
All I know is that I wont let it by me again. Ive found his Suboxone before, and didnt really do anything about it.
To add to this, I checked his history, and a few days ago he was reading all sorts of shit about FBI Clandestinely produced fentanyl from mexico, in the form of a Duregesic Transdermal patch, the most common form bought and sold illicitly, reinforcing my assumption that it was purchased illegitimately. They dont prescribe that shit to just anyone, that shits for like, cancer patients.

Fent isnt just for cancer patients any body with chronic pain can get it so he might have gotten it legitimately rx'd. its not that hard to get opiods from docters especially if your a middle aged middle class white man/women. and that good that he is researching it that show some sense of responisibility because fent is easy to overdose when you dont use it as a patch.

Oxycodone is a 12 twice a day pill this is for brake through pain, and most people on it have huge tolerances to opiates. + it doesnt kill you the first time you take it, mabey if you smoke all the gel at once you will OD but just sticking it on you it wont.

i am also on suboxone, and had been doing amazing, about 4 months clean and really being really into recovery, as of two days ago, i relapsed and hopelessly falling into oblivion. so unless your step father is a complete scumbag maybe you shouldnt rat him out (sorry only read 1/2 the thread so im sure the issue is resolved)
but if hes on suboxone hes obviously trying to be on the right path, i think you should confront him on the issue and tell him to put all his shit on display, and have a reallly good talk, hopefully you will be able to learn whether hes serious or just a jerk-off.
i hate making stupid emo comments like the one im about to make, but when i relapsed this time around (on day 3 of using, hopefully i can get back on track tomorrow) but i was so ashamed of relapsing, i wanted to kill myself and leave a note saying i did this so everyone would understand, i am trying to fight this battle, and that i do want a good life for myself, i just cant seem to win. because i dont want people to think i use for a good time, or that i just want to party.
maybe your step dad is like me, and just keeps losing the battle for his sobriety. so as long as you catch the drift that he's trying maybe just support him. but if you come to the conclusion that hes a complete scumbag than hang him out to dry. but thats subjective, because im sure most of you would htink im a complete scumbag for using, so in the end it really is all up to you.

Just letting you guys know that I posted an update on the page before this one, as of today. Im alright, not on the streets or anything extreme.
However I did just talk a little to my uncle. We agreed that this was a pathetic step, even in the life of a junkie. My stepdad had been illegally buying suboxone as a way to ween himself of heroin. Once he was completely off heroin, he never ended up getting off the suboxone (its cheap enough where he doesnt care). So its really stupid that hes not just going a step up from sub, hes going a step up and over.
He told me that the best idea is to not fuck with it. Just stop talking to him, as he is a fool and a lost cause. Which Im going to take into effect immediately. I didn't ask him if calling the cops would be an option, but I will ask him tomorrow. He did however, say that its a felony just to have those pictures, me being underage for a prescription, and the drug is schedule II, so I should delete them.
So I guess Im just going to ignore him, avoid him, whatever.
Im going to spend the weekend with him, discussing this shit. His house burned down, so he has a new one that needs to be worked on. So I'll get money for skiing, time away from home, and some good advice. Ill update this soon

but if hes on suboxone hes obviously trying to be on the right path, i think you should confront him on the issue and tell him to put all his shit on display, and have a reallly good talk, hopefully you will be able to learn whether hes serious or just a jerk-off.

Dude, you're at least very honest about yourself, better than most addicts I know who lie and hide their behavior. If you're in this mindset now, I cant imagine you'll be on this stuff long.

Hey +vibes for your situation, I can imagine how you feel. I was addicted to opiates last year and have been clean for 452 days (: !! The thinks addicts due cant be excused, the suffering I put my family through still eats me today. With my experience in the other side of this situation puts me in position to give you some advise in what I wish my brothers would have done early in somewhat the position you are in.
First he will have to change or will end up in prison and dead and both of those are not good. He truly loves you but being and addict will make you do things that will haunt you once you are sober. He needs to hit rock bottom and have nothing else to loose till he can start the climb back to a normal life. Withdraws alone will make you want to never stop. Most likely he is using his soboxone to be able to maintain his habit when he doesn't have his fix. In my opinion Suboxone is harder to quit then the opiate itself. When I went to rehab their was 4 or 5 people in the for Soboxone.
You need to talk to him and tell him that you dont want to see him die and how it makes you feel about him killing himself infront of you. and tell him that you will support him 100 percent if he want to change and get help. If not you will not support or have a relation ship with him in anyway. This is what my family did to me and even though withdraws were the worst thing i thought could happen to me, even in the depths of my addiction i knew deepdown not having my family would be the worst thing even more the dieing on the streets.

He will not beable to do this alone without support from other recovering addicts. My first few meetings I didnt say a word but just knowing I was not alone and wasnt the only person who did the things i did made me cope and deal with my emotions alot easyer. Also I made a new social network. He cant talk or hangout with the people he did before or else a relapse is inevitable. I never went to get so much coffe etc before in my life before NA. It teaches you what to do instead of getting high and how to live a normal productive life. Also the first website is for treatment programs. he needs to do ATLEAST detox or he wont ever quit. If money is an issue thier are ways to still do it. Methadone imho is much better for serious addicts becuase of the clinics.

Opiate use is very easy to distinguish from a "lover" standpoint - a person looks almost sick when they are pills compared to sobriety.
Your mother HAD to of brought your finding of his stash to him. No wife/mother would ever let that slide - it's female nature to bring that kind of thing up, is it not? He must be paranoid and most likely assuming you are feeling, well, like you are. I guarantee you won't find another one of his stash's, so you need to keep those pictures you have, just case.
Lastly, would your uncle ever tell your mom that you came to him? Ask him to keep it confidential, if he were to bring up that you came to him to your mother she certainly would realize that you are taking this seriously - and she would tell your step dad, maybe not thinking about the consequences...
