What you said is part of the NS yearly cycle, but it's not just the new members. Most NS members go through an evolution. n00b->@sshole->cool online->cool in general. NS isn't turning into crap. I've been here since 2000.
The mods I've personally met are unbelievably chill and very down to earth. The obscene things that are said to them through PMs, IMs, emails, and facebook because they deleted a thread are ridiculous. They deserve far more credit and thanks than they get. If you meet one, show some appreciation and buy them a drink.
But in all seriousness and to repeat whats been said a dozen times already. We as staff and mods know we walk a very fine line when it comes to trying to keep the site clean, while still not affecting your "freedom". We like to think we have a pretty good balance, as well as having some very relaxed policies. We have tried to outline our policies and really think they give a ton of leeway to let you guys have fun here. If you do have a problem with something we deleted then most of us are pretty reasonable, ask nice as we're more then happy to discuss it. Though if you start waving your arms and screaming oppression then you might receive a slightly different response.
On the flip side of things, if you see a thread/post/user causing problems then let us know. Like Doug said, there are thousands of new threads each week, not to mention the tens of thousands of posts, so obviously we can't catch everything.

I've had a great time browsing and deleting threads on NS recently.
Deleting mostly. Just to save me some time and aggravation, lets go
over a few things you may have missed when you clicked "sign me up!"
I've put them into two categories, for your convenience.
Perma-banned (I will not heed any plea's you may make, period)
This crap threatens the site as a whole. As in, your post and content could make NS receive a huge fine or shutdown. If you post something like this, you must really be a huge deserving cockmaster of the ban you are about to be endowed.
- Porn. No tits. No vagoo. If we find it in a cult, cults over, I'll ban the leaders and subordinates.
- Pedophilia. Legal in Angola, not on NS. Includes 'Jailbait' threads, you'll both go to hell and receive a ban.
- Sale of illegal substances. Weed. Booze. Drugs. Should go without saying, but honestly, you wanna know whats been ending up in our deleted threads?
Temporary Ban (I may heed plea's you may make, possibly)

You know this is a completely cyclical tornado of death we get ourselves into. After working at this site for the better part of 5 years, and being a member for about 4 before that I've seen this argument pop up since the beginning.
In general, people get mad when there's too much moderating. They cry freedom of speech and call us nazis.
If we do too little moderating people snap and tweak and complain that the moral fibre of newschoolers is degrading humanity and we need to clean the place up or we'll all go to a collective dark place in hell.
People say that newschoolers used to be good, that its going to shit, and that communist russia and a KGB task force has taken it over and is stripping its users of their god-given american freedom. The exact same thing pops up every single year, at almost the exact same time as we all go through a fevourous withdrawl from the sport that we all love.
The moderators do a wonderful job of cleaning up the mess that this site would be if it was left alone. Hell NS has almost 1,500 new threads per WEEK. If we didn't clean out some of the crap it would be a concophony of garbage.

i completely agree, but the reason why ns is becoming so shitty, is because some of the new members just are a nuesence.
The mods do do a great job of cleaning up the forums and banning useless trolls, but sometimes they cross the line when it comes to banning/ deleting threads.

I feel really bad this year because so many things have put the site in jeopardy (RedBull freaking out, kids with porn) and that shit makes me mad thankful for mods who keep this site running and legal. Thanks mods.
