Subject: Evolution Tour Manager alive and retarded
What up NSrs,
There is no better way to follow a kick ass evolution tour event at Windells than spending a week in Portland ICU and the Trauma Recovery Unit. I am back in Utah and have good days and bad ones.
I just wanted to drop a line to set the rumors straight about my condition since my accident at Windells last week. I broke my back in 2 places, broke 6 ribs, punctured my lung, and a massive concussion. I snapped both my FRNTS in half and ripped both my back bindings off, and the doctors say that is what saved my life. I have no memory from the time I hit the ground to when I got to the hospital, but I thank all the riders who helped get me off the mountain safley. I also want to let you all know how much I appreciate all the lettters, cards, calls, and emails, it means a lot. I will be 100% by winter and just a little more retarded than I already was.

It was super icy and flat light and I speed check it 4 times. I was expecting to go bigger than usual, but I still don't know how I overshot that far. They figure that I carried over 140 feet and dropped 60ft straight down. It was a bad day to do it, but I just did not want to leave Hood without hitting it and we had to leave that afternoon to make it back for the SLC event on the 9th.

Wow man, that sucks that had to happen but i'm super gald you're gonna be alright. ashcraft told me you got hurt pretty bad the other day so thanks for the update and i you hope have a fast recovery. best of luck man.

I'm sure all of you have overshot before. Everything is in slow-motion. You just hang there waiting to impact.
Regarding Footy, There was 2 to 3 different footy angles of the incodent and we are in the middle of getting it. We have the above the jump angle and it is narly as hell. I am 15ft past the nuckle and 40ft above it. I drop from sight when I am upside-down on the second front. We are getting the footy from the otherside (Impact). As soon as we get all the footy, we will post it. Weston is going to post some stills taken in a few days. They should put the footage in the dictionary under "Screwed".

damn 12 weeks rehab? you're lucky, i have 12 weeks on crutches before i even get to start rehab thanks to my injury. good to hear about someone pulling through something like that though man, good luck on recovery.

Brad. I watched the footage of the crash, and it scared me shitless. I have NEVER seen anyone take a table that big let alone with a double front. When Weston told me my stomach dropped and i just instantly said a quick prayer. So glad that everything is going well. Keep up with the rehab buddy so you can kill it this winter! Crazy... Hope for a good recovery!
Whats funny is they gave me neurological test in the hostpital and I scored in the lower 10%. I have to take the test again in a month to make sure I have not suffered perminant damage. It was the easiest questions but I just could not answer them. I am truely an idiot now.

The problem is the accident footage is sandwiched in with all the windells tour event footage. I called the crew today and they said he would try to pull it and post it if they got to the Sun Valley event early enough and had time. I assume they didnt. As soon as they have enough time they will pull it and post it. I call Hornbeck because I thought he had footage also, but he didnt. The only footage is out on tour mixed in with a bunch of other stuff. I want to see it too.

getting seriously hurt sucks...im not saying it doesnt. Im just saying i hit that same jump all summer and watched so many kids work their way up on it...a jump that big is not something you should do any trick on first hit...we taught our campers all summer long to progress throughout the day and always start with straight airs no matter how sick the kid was...and what that guy did sounds like the worst example you could set. All that being said im glad the kid is recovering well, and i hope hes good to go by winter.
