The park guy that was there last year and in years past is gone, but yes he is a roided out crazy guy.
C'mon Windells peeps, post up! whats going on?
His job is to keep ppl out f the park that arent supposed to be there... so yeah he can be a asshole. thats his job to be one. if u were in his shoes what would u do? try kicking out 100+ppl perday and see how nice u are.
and there is way more to this story, some people made some mistakes and this did indeed result in their being fired. but there is a lot of shit being talked on Windells in this thread that is both exagerated and coming from a source that doesn't know what's up. Windells is the funnest place on earth, and i am currently loving my job, and i'm working very closely with my campers! as all the coaches are. so don't say shit when you don't know shit!
So why do people pick windells over the other camps that have lifts. Isn't windells hike only?
So I wonder........ With new coaches and such.. Did Windells just thin the weeds? IN other words, you know the park staff at your home mountain who is on staff every year but doesn't do shit with a rake or shovel? You know like.... Get rid of the fat and lazy and bring in some young and hungry eager snow lovers?

i just got a call from my boy dan and Tim windell is officially the biggest douchebag ever and fired the entire video crew for apparently no legit reason at all suddenly, besides more profit for him. 6 years of dedication with bearly and pay for thousands of hours of hard work every summer and its just done like that.. He just fucked over my friends lives at least temporarily and the chillest Boss I have ever had, is now unemployed with bills and rent piling up and will probably have to move. Banned from windells park and campus , summer ruined for all the filmers who now need to find a way to get home and will loose hundreds of dollars. The only reason I am not in the same situation is cause i broke my cam and had to take this summer off. Anyways respect to everyone who chose not to support this guy and attend other summer camps that still have some morals

Tim is a god guy, but his a business man and had lost track of his old dream... fun and progression of the snow sports. He's getting older and want to retire. In my opinion his doing it wrong and hurting and burning alot of briges in his path.

that has nothing to do with the fact of how good their park will be. they got 3ft of snow in JUNE. im guessing the reason they had no park for sesh 1 is their park is so big it is taking time to finish. and yes i agree with you, its complete bullshit to have no park for a session. thats just wrong to do to the campers. but still, i bet the park will be goodI don't. I'm not going to say so if there windells ppl on here i dont want my freinds fired that are currently working there. but i was a digger last year and was coming back this year. know mike and the dig crew from last year and got to know of the other staff this last summer and knew some from back in the day.
it is my first year working here, however i've skied in windells every summer for the last 3 years. but i guess i don't know too much bout the employment history.... sorry

yeah he is... thats why tommy, travis,sammy and all the other ski coaches were stoked on mike casue he understands the needs and like of skiers. ( he builds parks for a living year round and was one of the head coaches before running the parks) Now its all boarders on the crew this year... and all the MAIN ski coaches left.

well thats why they brought mike and his crew in last year casue the old crew wasnt puuliing wieght. they hadnt touched features that could have been up out in like 5-6 years. we put ou ever feature windells owns. like 20 rails/boxes plus all the snow features. our crew worked our ass's off and it showed... not like other resorts lazy crews that sit around.

Honestly though, that was a stupid thing to do, but to be fired because of this obviously isn't the right solution. I don't think Tim Windell is a complete fool, he actually seemed like a really nice guy when I met him. I just think he has to much going on sometimes and seems like an idiot. "Well Tim said that Eric (video dude) sold copies of the session video to the campers, when they were supposed to be given free to the campers. Honestly though, that was a stupid thing to do, but to be fired because of this obviously isn't the right solution. well it's safe to say that i made a smart decision not to go to windells this summer because i thought 2gs wasn't worth like 4 or 5 days of skiing when i can have backyard session for free

well I'm already signed up and i would have loved to go to monmentum or coc but between airfare and camp prices windells is it for me. It sucks to hear about this shit but camp can be what you make it. If you have a positive attitude and go to ski i think it would be sick regardless. If not i'm really nervous right now. Session 3 haha

Even though ive heard about some lame things pertaining to windells, i love the fact that kids will drop major coin (or have their parents do it) to spend like a week skiing, and they have to hike the fucking park, stay ~40 min away from the mountain at the arc (BOB is nice but shheeeeit), and yea, unless you're one of the unfortunate to ski only the public park, which in my opinion is the gayest shit ever
There are some missing facts to this story. As I understand it, the video crew works for Eric, who is under contract with Tim. They aren't Windells employees per se. Also, it was my understanding that Eric was supposed to provide the video for free to every camper this season. If it is in fact true that Eric was selling videos, that would be a violation of his agreement... and if it couldn't be resolved, I can understand why Tim would not want to work with Eric... which would mean all of Eric's employees would be out of a job.

that's fucked up, if you or your parents paid by credit card you might consider disputing the charges. I feel way worse for the kids who paid for camp and got screwed.
