Cedric the Pirate asked us for a job, so we asked him some questions about his past, his future, looting, pillaging, etc.  Read on for insights into the life of a pirate.



1. Tell me about yourself:
I’m just a regular French Canadian dude who happened to take a lot of pleasure in doing things differently. I completed my degree in physical education teaching in spring 2008 while traveling a bunch in North America to document the action of my shredding antics.

2. Why did you leave your last job?
I slept with the boss' wife and daughter at the same time and then he figured it out he chased me around with a knife so I figured out I was fired. On a more serious note school was over and teachers are not teaching when there is no school to teach in.



3. What experience do you have in this field?
I like skiing a lot and I like helping people to get better at things they like and making sure they got what they need to do so. That being said I worked in a ski shop as a tech and as a salesman for most of time in university.



4. Do you consider yourself successful?
I’m with a really nice girl that I’ve been with for a long time now, I got two cats that wakes me up in the morning, I got a good relationship with my family, got good friends who like me the way I am and my sponsors respect what I want to do with my skiing (at least I think they do) I guess I’ve been successful in life so far.

5. What do co-workers say about you?
They don’t say anything about me because they are in awe from staring at my big guns (read biceps).

6. What do you know about this organization?
You guyz are those guyz that show up at parties and get your clothes off and start dancing circle around girls to get them all excited, right? Other than that, Jibij would be a ski shop owned by Josh Bryant (aka bacon maker) that supports the freeskiing movement.

7. What have you done to improve your knowledge in the last year?
I read a bunch, I went to my classes in university, and I’ve made mistakes and learnt from them. I also spent a lot of time talking with some friends that are knowledgeable and learn from those talks.

8. Are you applying for other jobs?
They said there weren’t any spots left for another serial killer.

9. Why do you want to work for this organization?
To be ridiculously good looking with the uniform (read first answer to question 6)



10. Do you know anyone who works for us?
I know some of the skiers and I think they are pretty cool, except Jeff Kiesel, because he’s emo (see jeff kiesel is emo cult). I even got to shred with some of them over the years.

11. What kind of salary do you need?
3 g a week would be a good start considering all the customers I’ll bring in the shop with my big arm muscles.





12. Are you a team player?
If I like to tag team chicks??? No
Do I like to work with other people to achieve various mischiefs?? YES

13. How long would you expect to work for us if hired?
Until you figure out I’m taking money from the cash register to buy booze for myself and the other employees.

14. Have you ever had to fire anyone? How did you feel about that?
I definitely had to throw some of my mates off the board when they were being wussy about attacking other ships. I felt bad at first but when the sharks started to attack them, it gave me a good laugh.

15. What is your philosophy towards work (skiing)?
When you’re a skier, you have to get out there as much as you can because you never know when it’s going to be that epic day you’ve been waiting for. Even if it’s grey sky and icy you might end up having the time of your life taking fast laps with friends. Skiing is much more than doing tricks in the park or shredding big lines in the backcountry.

16. If you had enough money to retire right now, would you?
I would try to get some more money and try to find a way to give some back to the sport by helping the athletes that aren’t recognized enough.

17. Have you ever been asked to leave a position?
I really don’t know what you are talking about so I’m just gonna grab a cold one in the fridge for the rest of the interview.

18. Explain how you would be an asset to this organization.
If you hire me I would make all your dreams come true. No homo….



19. Why should we hire you?
To make your dreams come true… come on I just answered that question.



20. Tell me about a suggestion you have made.
Carry Moment skis, make outerwear, stop being a wuss and drink something else then milk and cranberry juice.

21. What irritates you about co-workers?
They are pretty much all taller then I am.

22. What is your greatest strength?
I can come up with tons of ideas when it comes to make people do stupid stuff. Just ask all of the ns/coc bitches I spent some time with in whistler this summer. Mama Jay also told me I was good at making travel expenses sheets.

23. Tell me about your dream job.
Testing various ski designs to help the progression of the ski making industry.

24. Why do you think you would do well at this job?
Because I am the man.

25. What are you looking for in a job?
I want a job that gives me some kind of accomplished feeling at the end of my day.



26. What kind of person would you refuse to work with?

People that are not having any fun at doing whatever they do in their life.

27. What is more important to you: the money or the work?
The accomplishment.

28. What would your previous supervisor say your strongest point is?
Convincing older people that twin tips are good skis even if you don’t hit the park.


29. Tell me about a problem you had with a supervisor.
One of my supervisors didn’t like my mustache and didn’t want me to get the job when I applied because I looked funny to her standard. Luckily I got the job since the boss actually read my resume and liked my attitude toward skiing and the supervisor finally figured out that I was a nice person even though I looked like a psychopath.



30. What has disappointed you about skiing?
The fact that athletes in this sport are risking a lot without necessarily getting the compensation they would get in various other sports.


31. Tell me about your ability to work under pressure.
I really like it when shops are overcrowded with customers and that I have to be on top of my game in order to make sure everyone is satisfied with the ski equipment they buy even  while making sure I sell more than every other salesmen in the shop just to show them I’m the boss!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

32. Do your skills match this job or another job more closely?
I could cook food for the staff instead.

33. What motivates you to do your best on the job?
The accomplished feeling that I get at the end of the day and the recognition from my superiors.

34. Are you willing to work overtime? Nights? Weekends?
As long as I have some time off to do stuff for myself and to spent some time with my gf and my friends.

35. How would you know you were successful on this job?
Once I would have a thread about me on newschoolers.com I’ll consider myself successful.

36. Would you be willing to relocate if required?
Only if the food and the skiing is good where I’m moving to.

37. Are you willing to put the interests of the organization ahead of your own?
Not when it comes to picking up chicks for the owner.

38. Describe your management style.
People have to make two choices:
1 - Do their job right and receive props for it.
2 - Do a poor job and be ready to face the consequence.
