The Gun is a perfect platform for the skier who isn't skiing pow all the time, but is skiing it a lot. If you're a super-duper backcountry hero, the Gun may be a bit on the soft side. But if you're a jibtastic rider looking to huck some cliffs and stomp hella powder landings, the Gun could be your new best friend.

Performance

It took me a while to get used to the way the Guns handle, but now that I've been on them a few months, I'm really starting to like them. I ride the shorter models at 172cm, which, in addition to a +2 mounting point, meant I was going over the handlebars quite a bit during the first few pow days.

Now that I've gotten used to them, I can power through just about anything; despite being fairly soft, you can still charge with these skis if you're willing to grab hold of the reigns. I wouldn't recommend them if you're a supercharging speed demon, but for big pow hits and deep pow turns, these skis are on the money.

Design

Pretty cool graphics I guess. My girlfriend said she'd take my skis over me, so I guess they're pretty hot to the opposite sex!

Value

The Guns come with a flashy price tag, but they're worth just about every cent. Wait 'til the spring and get them on sale, you won't regret it.

Characteristics

The Gun has a fairly forgiving flex, and is softer than most of the skis I've ridden. The noses are great for buttering, and the tails (when you're mounted a bit forward like me) are perfect for powering through pow landings.

Durability

I've been on mine about 25 days so far, and 'nary a scratch on them. I'm a bit worried about them deadening through too much buttering and flexing, but so far they're holding up well.

i skied next years here in ontario and loved them, for such a fat ski they sure don't feel very fat.. super quick

I rode the 188 last season and would have to agree they are pretty soft. I hated them in the chop, but they carved surprizingly well on the goomers and didnt have prob with chattering to much at high speed. They are truly magical in powder though, the float is money and turning is sooo easy. super pow ski

there good but i have never ridden them. there cool lookin. they look like a good pow ski and all around ski and they seem pretty easy to turn with!

i have had a pair of 174 guns for about 2 years now and i love them so much. Originaly i had them mounted about 2" back from center for better all mountain riding but recently i mounted them 1cm back from center in an experiment to see how they would handle in the park. This ski will pretty much own it up where ever you take it and is a really stable yet forgiving ski. It makes the classic Salomon foam core sound on impact but after more that 2 years i have yet to see it loose camber. I weigh 165 lbs and ski extremely hard on all my skis and it has held up by far the best. I have a minimal amount of chips on the sidewalls and you can barely see any scratches with the topsheet.
