Overall
The ipod is badass. It changed the way I listened to music, and I can't live without it.
Tip for the video thing: You don't need to buy apple's super-expensive video cable. Just use the one that came with your video camera, but switch the yellow and red ends. Apple switches the ipod to output the video on the red cable so they can jack you with a $40 cable.
Use this device on the way to the hill, on the airplane and in your home. Don't be stupid and take it skiing, its not meant for that.
Performance
I have over 7,000 songs on this thing plus a bunch of movies and TV shows. The best part of this thing was when we were in a hotel room in Mammoth and really bored one night... we simply hooked the ipod up to the TV and watched movies all night. Its a great traveling companion.
Design
The ipod is sleek and cool. You get to feel better than your friends because you have one.
Durability
THIS IS A FRAGILE DEVICE. Don't EVER ski with this thing. I have broken two of them already (thank you futureshop warranty) and I'm really afraid of messing this one up. The bigger ipods are for sitting on an airplane, driving in your car, or having your whole music collection at your buddies house. Its great to have movies in your hotel room, but DO NOT ski with it. This is a hard drive which spins every 15 minutes or so, and during that time its surprising that more of them don't die when people have them on the hill.
Quality
Apple really does make high quality stuff. The ipod functions incredibly well, is easy to use, and the sound quality is fantastic. It synchs to your computer easily, and 60 gigs is a shitload of storage space.
