Overall
I loved this product for the padding it offered. My only complaint was that sometimes it was a tad tight around my leg. I believe I may have gotten it a size too small. However, I do not suffer from shinbang, so its not as much of a necessity for me. Even with the slight tightness, they really did make the overall boot experience much more pleasureable. They enhanced performance of my boots, and I wear them almost every time I ski now.
Performance
Now, I don't have a problem with shin bang. Never have. However, I can never get my boots tight enough for my liking. I'm an ex-racer and I just love the tight boots.
The shintronic makes your boots more comfortable, and it fills the gap at the top of the boot, giving the performance of a tighter boot without actually reefing it down so far no blood flows.
It cuts down immensely on the rubbing on the front of your shin, and any chafing that occurs in your boot. It really locks the leg in place, and helps your leg/boot funciton as one unit.
I noticed a great deal of additional comfort when riding with these... my boots were a treat
Design
Its a simple little thing, but it is built extremely intelligently. The neoprene cuff snugly fits around your calf, and the two pads run on either side of your shinbone with a little gap for the pointy part of the bone. It gives you padding everywhere you need it, and none where you don't.
Value
Some say its a little pricey, but if you've got shin bang problems this is going to save your life. Plus it'll last a LONG time, so its not like you'll have to buy a bunch of them.
