First things first. I'm a 28 year old 6'4", 280lb guy who has been skiing since early childhood. I'm not amazing, but would consider myself an advanced skier.

Prior to getting these skis about a year ago, I was on 189 Surface Live Life 2's (precursor to the One Life). I liked them and were a great everyday ski (park, powder, whatever), but because of the crazy three stage rocker they felt very short and kind of squirly, particularly on groomers/hardpack/icy conditions.

When Surface started throwing out crazy deals on old models, I jumped at the chance to pick up a pair of 194 New Life's. I haven't regretted it for a second. I have them mounted at recommended (center I think. They are symmetrical) and wouldn't have it any other way. I haven't skied crazy deep powder (knee deep at most), but pretty much everything else. They rip everywhere (not moguls. Avoid moguls). They are nice and stiff (important for a guy my size). They carve SO much better than the LL2's. Despite the size they feel pretty quick edge to edge. Nice and stable off drops and through tracked out snow.

In a perfect world I would have something narrower for less than perfect conditions, but I'm not able to do that right now so they are my everyday ski. I won't use them in the park, but for ripping around everywhere else (other than moguls), they are a blast. Durability seems to be solid. There is the usual top sheet chipping that comes with side wall construction, but no other concerns.

When these guys go, I'll buy another pair.

F'n A. These skis are amazing on deep days. I have mine mounted true center. I'm 6'2 and so I was worried this would make them ski a bit short. Nope. They crush everything in their path. Pillow lines, steep shoots, 30 footer to flat. No problem.

I have a pair of AK JJ mounted for touring and everytime I'm out I find myself wishing I was on my new lifes. Hands down my favorite ski ever
