NEW ZEALAND'S PREMIERE HALFPIPE OPEN AT SNOW PARK NZ

A $3.5 million investment in a top of the line snowmaking system is paying off at Snow Park NZ in Wanaka, in what is being classed as a late winter season for New Zealand. The 33 snow guns at Snow Park NZ have enabled terrain park designers to unleash their talent and produce top quality features with excellent man made snow on top of the natural based received earlier in the season.

Among many new terrain features opened yesterday at the Snow Park was the main superpipe, cut to perfection by Snow Park's world-class pipe shaper Frank Wells. Mr. Wells reputation and expertise has influenced visits to Snow Park from some of the world's top halfpipe riders, including 8 national Olympic teams.

"Along with the help of pipe shaper Jeremy Carpenter, we are excited the pipe turned out so well considering this year's natural snow conditions, the Techno Alpin snow guns really helped " said Frank Wells, a native of Breckenridge, Colorado.

The arrival of Cutter's Cup Champion Elliot Cone, also from Breckenridge, has seen an injection of enthusiasm among the Snow Park grooming crew. Last night saw the addition of 4 new boxes and rails, as well as a completely rebuilt beginner jump area. Snow Park remains dedicated to providing terrain for all types of riders as it is vital to the progression of all winter sports.

"Diversity is essential to the Snow Park and bringing in people such as Elliot to the already talented crew fosters creativity and results in some amazing features" comments Snow Park general manager, Sam Lee, 26.

The wealth of knowledge among the Snow Park crew this year is guaranteed to produce some awesome surprises when it comes to new and exciting terrain.
