The AFP World Championships concluded yesterday with Men's and Women's Ski Superpipe Eliminations and Finals, which went off at Whistler Blackcomb under grey skies but great snow for skiing pipe. The massive 22-foot superpipe was in immaculate condition and Eliminations saw two heats of 20+ athletes charging for the 10 coveted spots in Finals (where they would then meet the top two pre-qualified athletes based on the AFP World Rankings, Torin Yater-Wallace and Noah Bowman), lead by the only and only Justin Dorey, who secured the top spot heading into the big show.

Once Finals were all said and done, Mike Riddle capped off his season in the best way possible by taking home the win after throwing down huge hits and stomping his way to victory. His winning run consisted of a double cork 12 mute to some absolutely massive back-to-back left and right 9's followed by a huge flatspin 3 bow & arrow grab to a switch left 9 mute.

Fresh off his podium finish at European X Games, Thomas Krief finished the season strong as well by ending up in second place on his second run after taking a spill on his first. Despite the bobble on his first go at it, Toto held nothing back, and laid down a left double cork 12 tail, back-to-back right and left 9's with huge amplitude, a massive flatspin 3 japan, and a switch left 7 mute.

On the women's side of things, Maddie Bowman was skiing well all day (much like she has all year), and managed to pick up the win by a large margin with a run that consisted of a first hit straight air mute, to left cork 9, back-to-back right and left 5's, right 7 and a switch left 5.

In second was Anais Caradeux, who added another podium notch to her belt with a left 5, to straight air double japan, left cork 9, alley-oop, left 5, and capped off her run with another alley-oop.

And rounding out the podium in third was two-time X Games gold medalist Rosalind Groenewoud, who kicked off her run with a huge straight air mute, to right 9 safety, left 5 mute, right 5 safety and finished things off with a left 7.
