The North Face Opens First Canadian Retail Store

The North Face Toronto Store Grand Opening Event on September 23rd

SAN LEANDRO, California – September 22, 2011 – The North Face, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, today announced it will open the doors to its first Canadian retail location in Toronto, at 151 Bloor Street West, tomorrow, September 23rd, 2011.

Continuing the brand’s strategic expansion into key markets, the 3,694 square foot store is located in Toronto’s Yorkville neighborhood, Canada’s most distinguished retail area. Internationally recognized as one of the world’s top shopping locales, Bloor Street is comparable to acclaimed areas such as Fifth Avenue in New York, Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, and Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. The North Face joins other major retailers on the street, including: lulu lemon, Tiffany’s Cartier, Gucci, Hermes, Esprit, Club Monaco, Prada, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Chanel, Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew, Benetton, and Zara.

Gear for a Year Sweepstakes

All customers who visit The North Face store during the Grand Opening weekend will have the chance to enter, at ballot boxes throughout the store, for a chance to win the company’s Gear for a Year sweepstakes. One winner will be drawn on December 15, 2011, and will win a $2500 gift card.

Athlete Appearances

The North Face snowboarding athlete and Canada native, DCP will be onsite at the store opening on September 23rd to show clips from his latest snowboarding film, The Art of Flight. He will also be hosting his own sweepstakes for a chance to win a signed snowboard and will be signing posters and sharing his adventures and insights on his favorite TNF products.

Rock Climbing

In addition, to commemorate the store opening, The North Face will have a climbing wall onsite for customers to try out one of TNF’s favorite outdoor activities.
