MARKER-VÖLKL & Navionics Launch 2011 Ski App for iPhone

LEBANON, NH. (November 12, 2010) - Navionics, a worldwide leader in outdoor navigation smart phone apps has taken its expertise to the slopes, and is partnering with industry leaders Völkl and Marker to release its 2011 ski app which includes over 1,800 ski resorts worldwide.

Marker-Volkl will have a new way to market to consumers and support its branding efforts and retailer network at the regional level through text alerts within the Navionics Ski app that will inform users about products, services and on hill demo opportunities offered by the company.

“In launching the Navionics ski app, we wanted to partner with a supplier that could help us build visibility and demonstrate the features packed into our app, what better brands than Marker and Völkl to help us showcase the fun” says Dana Fenner, Director of Business Development for Navionics.

In addition to over 35,000 km of trails and the ability to access 22,000 thousand ski related POI¹s (points-of-interest) spanning more than 1,800 resorts worldwide, skiers will be able to enjoy the value of the ski app by collecting statistics like maximum speed and accumulated vertical feet - skiers can playback their runs and share with friends via Email, Facebook or Twitter.
