Bonnier Mountain Group and The Ski Channel Announce Partnership Extension

Los Angeles (January 27th, 2010) – Steve Bellamy, Chairman and CEO of The Ski Channel (www.theskichannel.com) and Mike Federle, Bonnier Mountain Group Publisher announced today that they have extended their current television rights agreement and marketing partnership, and that they are in discussions on a more integrated partnership for the future.

“The extended partnership will be geared towards marketing and promoting each other's assets as well as leveraging each other's content and media expertise,” said Federle. "We look forward to working more broadly with Steve and the Ski Channel. Our overarching objective for the Bonnier Mountain Group is to grow the overall ski industry. Supporting the development of television programming and distribution to tens-of-millions is one significant way we can achieve this."

The current partnership includes televising Warren Miller Entertainment films and the television series Spills and Thrills on The Ski Channel. The network runs a heavy television commercial campaign for Ski and Skiing Magazines, while those publications in turn run ads promoting The Ski Channel.

“There is simply nothing like the Warren Miller film tour in skiing or any action sports. They are the gold standard,” said Bellamy. “It is a property without parallel and we now have the households to help grow it even more. Having a deep partnership with the Bonnier Mountain Group is like having Roger Federer as your doubles partner at the club tournament.”

The Ski Channel http://www.theskichannel.com is an original, free ad supported network delivered on cable, satellite and IPTV services, web, wireless and other means of distribution. It is the only television network devoted to the wide variety of year round mountain activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, backpacking, climbing, etc, along with many off-slope activities. The Ski Channels’ content will inspire and inform audiences with magazine shows, movies, events, news, weather and programs that focus on destination travel, equipment, instruction and real estate.

Bonnier’s Mountain Group includes SKI and Skiing magazines, NASTAR and Warren Miller Entertainment. SKI is the authority on resorts, equipment and instruction, while Skiing offers information, advice and fresh perspectives on the lifestyle of young-thinking, active skiers. Warren Miller Entertainment produces award-winning feature-length snow-sports films in addition to television programming. NASTAR is the largest recreational ski & snowboard race program in the world. Bonnier Corporation is a multi-media company whose enterprises include leading magazines, websites, television and radio programming, feature films, events and exhibitions.
