MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN SET TO OPEN NOVEMBER 7
Mammoth Mountain, CA - Mammoth Mountain has been busy making the final
preparations for the 2002-03 season. Snowmaking crews have blanketed
Broadway and surrounding trails with a foundation of snow to ensure great
early season conditions. A base depth of 12-18 inches is expected to be in
place by Opening Day Thursday, November 7th, 2002 delighting anxious skiers
and snowboarders.
"Once again we have assembled an excellent snowmaking crew to get us up and
running this year," says Pam Murphy, Senior Vice President of Mammoth
Mountain. "Year after year Mammoth is able to open early and offer
consistently great conditions thanks to the efforts of our unmatched
snowmaking and grooming crews."
To kick off the 2002-2003 season, Mammoth Mountain will be hosting an
Opening Day Celebration on Saturday, November 9th. Skiers and boarders
attending the celebration will enjoy a champagne toast led by CEO of Mammoth
Mountain Ski Area Rusty Gregory, Find the Woolly contest, free ski/ride tips
from the Mammoth Sports School instructors and live music from Tungsten City
Band on the Main Lodge sundeck. The official mascot of Mammoth Mountain,
Woolly, will also be making an appearance on the slopes, anxious to get in
his first turns of the 2002-2003 season.
