Heat Harvest

Heat Harvest 3 saw the North East’s best throw down for the biggest non-comp of the season. “Heat Harvest” was born from the ambition of the east coast to have a “Super Park” session to include the best of the best to show case their talents on the slopes of Sunday River’s own “White Heat” hence the name “Heat Harvest.”

The “Harvest” begins with pushing the snow down “White Heat” to formulate a massive multi-feature that will encompass a few days worth of hucking to satisfy the hungriest needs of still and video photographers as well as athletes.

This years’ setup consisted of a gap jump that measured about 85ft from transition to knuckle. Also included was a massive hip, a transfer, and a steep table transition that would prove to be possibly the most fun feature of the event for the participants.

The likes of Richie Paradise, Nick Martini and Justin Perry absolutely slayed the various features like a timid dragon.

Paradise laid down some casual cork 3’s over the hip and cork 7’s over the gap.

Perry was oozing style with his double true nose 5’s over the gap, 1’s over the transfer, and D-Spin 7’s on the hip, which he worked relentlessly to perfect.

Nick Martini

Martini seemed to display the most versatile bag of tricks throwing cork 7’s, switch cork 7’s, switch rodeo 7’s, and bio 5’s over the gap. He also was the only one to hit the hip switch and put together a creamy 5 rodeo while doing so. Putting an exclamation on the first morning was Nick’s double front flip over the gap.

When all is said and done HH3 is building a tradition that the East can be proud of: An environment that gives athletes a chance to resurrect style in favor of “spin to win” and a location that embraces the concept of an all out super park session for the sickest skiers in the region.
