Sun Valley, ID, January 21, 2008 – Scott USA is focused on driving wintersports participants.  In an effort to introduce more people to the mountain experience and the culture Scott has fostered in Ketchum, Idaho since 1958, Scott USA is the exclusive eyewear and ski pole sponsor the 48Straight events at Squaw Valley and Sun Valley.

48Straight (formerly known as the Ski Tour) is a weekend long mountain experience that consists of world-class competition and entertainment.  In Squaw Valley and Sun Valley, Scott will sponsor ski and snowboard half-pipe events as well as a rail jam in Squaw Valley and a rail jam or big air in Sun Valley.

“Scott is a progressive brand that realizes the need to introduce new participants to the sports (skiing and snowboarding) that we love”, states Gabe Glosband, Scott USA’s Wintersport Marketing Director.  “Half-pipe events, rail jams and big-airs are fun events to watch and are at the core of our sport.  Couple core events with skiing, snowboarding, music and parties and you have something for everyone.  We applaud the efforts of 48Straight, another Ketchum, ID company, and want to help them in their efforts to grow wintersports.”

“Scott’s history in wintersports and their constant efforts to grow wintersports made them a logical partner to help us get more people to the mountains to experience the amazing lifestyle and sports in the mountains,” adds Troy Ballard, Marketing Director of 48Straight.

In addition to hosting 2 weekend long events, the 48Straight weekends will be broadcast on CBS.

Simon Dumont Injured In X Games 14 Pipe Practice

Simon Dumont Injured In X Games 14 Pipe Practice

Jan 28th 2010

Ture LillegravenBad news already at winter X Games 14. Skier Simon Dumont was injured at the end of super pipe practice Tuesday morning. From what I have read it sounds like he misjudged a double flip and bounced all the way down to the flat bottom. Don't you worry fans, Simon was checked out by medical staff and is said to be ready... for a day off and some good old fashion rest. Mr. Dumont is still scheduled to compete in Friday's Big Air, Saturday's SuperPipe, and Sunday's SuperPipe High Air. I am hoping for a speedy recovery since Simon is my pick to win the newest event, Super Pipe Big Air. READ THE EXPN ARTICLE
