WINTER PARK RESORT ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING FOR PANORAMIC EXPRESS CHAIRLIFTGuests Greeted by Man on the Moon to Celebrate North America’s Highest High-Speed Six-Person Chairlift  WINTER PARK, COLO., December 14, 2007 – Winter Park Resort is excited to announce the Grand Opening of North America’s highest high-speed six person chairlift, the Panoramic Express, set for Saturday, December 15, at 10:45 a.m.  In addition to the traditional first chair launch ceremony, skiers and riders present for the event will hear remarks from Gary DeFrange, president and chief operating officer for Winter Park Resort; learn who the winner of the Panoramic Express First Chair Contest is, and receive free SWAG from the only other person considered an expert on high altitude – Winter Park Resort’s very own Man on the Moon.  Extending from the bottom of Mary Jane’s Edelweiss trail to the top of Parsenn Bowl at 12,060 feet above sea level, the PanoramicExpress’ Grand Opening will provide skiers and riders with access to an additional 328 acres of freshly opened terrain including such trails as: Parry’s Peek, Forever Eva, Johnstone Junction, Willet’s Way, Kinnikinnic, Calypso, Paintbrush, Forget-Me-Not, Larkspur, Juniper, Sky Pilot, Village Way and Parsenn Off-Piste.   The opening of the Panoramic Express will bring Winter Park Resort’s trail and chairlift status report for tomorrow to 1,513 acres of open terrain including 19 chairlifts and 97 trails.   Winter Park Resort has received over 26 inches of snow this week and boasts a mid-mountain base depth of 47 inches and a summit depth of 50 inches.  In the past 24 hours Winter Park Resort has received 1.5 inches of new snow; 5 inches in the past 48 hours and 13.5 inches in the past 72 hours.  Season to date snowfall is 87.4 inches. For more information on the Grand Opening of the Panoramic Express or Winter Park Resort visit http://www.winterparkresort.com.  For media inquiries including media passes and digital pictures, contact Darcy Morse at (970) 531-8681.Â
