Whaleback's Grand Opening of Jib Harbor

Whaleback is opening for skiers and riders this Saturday at 12 noon, with on-snow jibbing (hitting rails, boxes, and other features on skis and snowboards). Jib Harbor is an innovative new area located next to the Whaleback chair lift with beginner and advanced features. It has been specially designed and constructed to open with a minimal amount of snow. How cool, right? We gather the snow from local ice skating rinks and bring it to you! This is not only great for you; it also allows Whaleback to open for skiing and snowboarding regardless of the season or temperature.

I am stoked that Whaleback is going to have skiing and snowboarding every weekend when most resorts are still just thinking about snow, says co-owner Evan Dybvig. We feel that we are offering a unique opportunity for kids to participate in something that is fun and challenging, and sets Whaleback apart from other resorts.
