The Ski Channel and Ride Guide TV form long term licensing deal.
26 new episodes per year of the ski industries’ premiere international television series to appear exclusively in the US on The Ski Channel.

Los Angeles (Sept 10th, 2007) – Steve Bellamy, Chairman and CEO of The Ski Channel announced a multi-faceted partnership with Calgary based, Ride Guide TV. The deal includes premiere windows for the Ride Guide’s entire library of Ski and Mountain Bike shows, use of the Ride Guide’s extensive clip library that has 10’s of thousands of hours of the most extreme and interesting footage from all over the world and joint production efforts on new programming. Ride Guide has produced over 300 episodes, over 11 seasons and is seen in 60 countries worldwide in over 60 million households. As part of the deal, the Ride Guide will produce 26 fresh episodes per year for The Ski Channel and will make available all past episodes. Ride Guide is produced in cooperation with Canwest Media Works, Inc.

“The Ride Guide is the premiere mountain oriented episodic television series in the world,” said Steve Bellamy. “They go to the most remote and interesting places around the globe in a way that makes viewers feel like they are actually on the trip. These guys know where to go, what to shoot, what to say and how to say it. They capture the soul of the space and produce some of my favorite programming in all of television. They are going to be a giant tent pole on The Ski Channel.”

“The Ski Channel is now the biggest media platform in the mountain sports genre and we are honored to be their first large episodic television programming deal,” said Ride Guide founder Kevin Pennock. “We appreciated our run on Havoc TV in the US, but The Ski Channel is more in tune with what we are doing. We spend our lives producing cool shows from the most remote destinations and now viewers in the world’s biggest ski country will find us 24 hours a day on a targeted ski and mountain destination. They are an especially perfect fit for Ride Guide because of their commitment to both skiing and snowboarding during the winter and mountain biking in the summer.”

Ride Guide is steeped in knowledge of the ski and mountain world from a global perspective and leverages this knowledge in all of their programming which focuses heavily on freeski, snowboard and mountain biking. Their seasonal productions blend the most pertinent subject matters with the most interesting places and unique stories venturing from the best cat and heli-skiing to the best-kept powder secrets to the biggest freeride festivals to the most remote destinations and the most colorful personalities in the mountain world. Terms of the deal allow benefits to current and future Ride Guide sponsors and advertisers.
