Thanksjibbing rail jam at Squaw Nov. 25 Nov 2nd 2006

SnowBomb and Squaw Valley USA are giving skiers and snowboarders something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving weekend. On Saturday November 25th, Thanksgiving may be over but the spirit of the holiday is alive and well at the Thanksjibbin’ rail jam. Be thankful, a base mountain location means lift tickets are not necessary to watch or enter this rail competition.

Squaw Valley USA’s new Terrain Park Director, Tom Richards, would not let this rail comp go off without a brand new rail/box feature. The Thanksjibbin’ feature is a stair-set with a dual level down box, a flat down rail, and down box with a hand rail. This new feature is just a teaser of what’s to come for Squaw’s terrain parks with Tom Richards on board.

Thanksjibbin’ is an open entry competition with four classes: men’s and women’s ski and snowboard. Registration and practice is at 11 am and the competition starts at 1 pm. If the competition finishes early, hang out for a special Best Trick Jam Session, where competitors are judged purely on style and ease. The competition entry fee is $10 and helmets are mandatory for all competitors! Athletes who are under 18 years must have a parent or guardian present at registration to sign a liability release form.

Find out who dominates Thanksjibbin’ and who might not have as much to be thankful for at the 4 pm Le Chamois awards ceremony. The antics continue well into the evening with a 9 pm rager at Zenbu, featuring live music from the Starving Millionaires (21 & up).

With awesome prizes from event sponsors (Line, Bataleon Snowboards, Helly Hansen, Icer), this early season event is bound to awake Tahoe’s freshest rail talent. Come to Squaw on Saturday, November 25 to find out who has the skills to take the Thanksjibbin' crown.

Thanksjibbin’ at Squaw is the first stop for the Toyota Sick & Twisted Series. For more information on this festive rail competition and the Toyota Sick & Twisted Series, visit www.snowbomb.com. See you on Thanksjibbing!
