I really hope Blackberry makes a comeback, they had a great product but they just didn't have the multimedia capability of the iPhone, it was too much of a business phone for the average person. It wasn't "fun" like the iPhone. If it wasn't for android being so great, I would probably have a Blackberry. Even if I don't own one, I will always love them.

That's going to be the main problem. Blackberry is horrible at marketing...
They can have the best product in the world but if it's not marketed properly, no one is going to buy it

That's your opinion.
I'm sure you can get used to it quickly. You don't have to keep pressing a button to get to the homescreen to open another app every time..

windows phone 7.5 mango looks better and already has those features + more, im sticking with my windows phone. i have a feeling windows phone 8 will blow this away too.

That didn't look like it worked that well at all. He tried multiple times to do things that didn't happen the first, second, and sometimes even the third time. I would not buy it.

Funny that everything they listed you either already can do with any other smart phone and if you couldn't it was some stupid ass feature like separate work and personal desktops? talk about way too much going on. Blackberry needs to conform and stop trying to be "different" or "innovative" because they're always behind. They ran an ad for the blackberry bold where it was like "A new revolution in smart phones, keyboard AND touch screen!" ... the OG droid was touch screen with keyboard. Shit like that pisses me off about blackberry, they're trying way too hard. windows phone is already stupid enough, do we really need another shitty blackberry OS?

I think blackberry is going in the wrong direction. The reason it's a dying breed is because phones like androids and iphones can be business oriented AND fun. Blackberry is closing there demographic even more by making a phone that's fucking cluttered as fuck and packed with even more business minded features.

I loved my bold but after switching to iphone and seeing their "improvements" I would never go back.

I find it pretty cool? Pressing the home button every second to do something that requires more than one app can be a little irritating after a while.
It shouldn't matter to you, why it has me impressed. It's all personal preferences.
I also find the keyboard really cool, you can do everything with one hand when you're on the go.

although i have an android phone, iphone probably has the easiest keyboard to type on. plus you can voice-to-text on iOS and Android.

I have a Blackberry with a physical keyboard. I hate touchscreens, but this new BB10 phone will make me switch to a full-touch screen phone because it looks so much better to type on than both Android and iPhones.

ok? making the point that you can "do everything with one hand on-the-go" has no relevance because every single smartphone is like that. once again proving why BB10 is still way behind on the technology and innovation curve, especially if they think this keyboard is an innovation.

We were talking about keyboards. No shit you can use a phone with one hand.. Unlike other smartphones, this one will have word suggestions as you're typing.
This was just a small preview of what BB10 has to offer, and there is no way you can say that they are behind on the "technology and innovation curve"..

i used to be the biggest blackberry fanboy. bb beta zone, tried to use as much of the functionality of their phones as i possibly could, and did my best to get other people on the bb bandwagon.

i also used to feel the same way until i got a torch and started using the screen only to type, then the outage happened and shit kept fucking up, and rim started going downhill and i moved to iphone.

not a day goes by that i miss my blackberry.


i have owned 11 different blackberries, through both upgrades and warranties, in the span of 3 years. tour, warranty tour, warranty tour, upgrade bold, warranty bold, warranty bold, warranty bold, warranty bold, loaner new gen pearl, upgrade torch, torch.

one year and counting and i am still on my same iphone.

bb is going to have to step their shit up real hard for me to ever switch back. id probably go android before i go back to bb

BB has such a mountain to climb. They have fallen so far behind in the smartphone game. I used to have a blackberry and once I got an iPhone I questioned why the hell I had a BB for so long. I imagine that is the case with most former BB users.

The BB10 could be kickass but nobodys gonna buy it. It's the next one that needs to be the shit. People will try this it will hopefully create buzz and then the next one needs to blow shit out of the water. Or it will suck ass like all of the BB phones.

the entire business class will buy it. like they always have bought BB's. if not for the phone itself then for the security. Blackberry by far has the best encryption and no other phone company rivals it. It's why someone like the President of the United States has a Blackberry.

I dont think the entire business class will buy it. I think some will, but surely not the entire business class. I'm sure some will. But there are alot of business people who have iPhones and Andriods and are perfectly happy. My company uses iPhones, haven't had any security problems.

many will for sure, however after that huge outage last year RIM's reliability track record is tainted in the business industry specifically. my girlfriend's dad's entire company was running blackberries and within a day of the outage, the entire company was switched over to ios devices.

blackberry not only needs to step up their phone game, but their data system, seeing that their dedicated email/information system that renders phones as useless if it crashes, is a huge issue, regardless of how well it does its job when it is up and running

not much different from word suggestions being above the keyboard..
and you say other phones can't switch from app to app without going back to the homescreen? android's multitasking is the best i've used. this paired with 1 gb ram is like you've never left an app once you come back to it. i have a page open in my browser, then i go play a game, i switch back to the browser and most of the time the webpage is still there, no need to reload.

wrap your arm around one of the poles? it's not too hard to stand on a bus while it's moving. regardless, BB10 shows nothing promising compared to current phones.

my one and only thought about this product is the business men that have black berrys do so because most of them refuse to use a touch screen. this phone has no attraction to me even though i know that my dad is going to want to buy this phone..... but doesnt compete with the 5 and neither compete with the intel phone thats coming out soon.

I gotta say: this looks like a great device. I don't care for smartphones at all. I've never had one, nor am I planning on getting one any time soon, but I don't give a shit about all the bells and whistles iphones and android has.

This is clean and talks business. This looks by FAR the greatest digital agenda. Anyone over 30 would be by far best of with the BB 10 I think.

Im sorry, but the whole first "blackberry hub" is literally what a notification bar is on android (apple too now) where it shows the message and who its from, etc and its just a drag down bar that goes over your current app. The hub actually looks less efficient.

Separate "work" and "personal" home pages is dumb, waste of space. You could easily just have another page, its stupid. Maybe i'd be cool if it was a work phone, but the reasons they listed were pretty silly.

Also, multitasking on android is easy as fuck, you never have to hit the home button, you just hit the mutli window button and it pulls up every app thats running and you can seamlessly go from app to app. This isn't a new feature, at all.

folders... i remember when i first got a smart phone.

app store... sick...

BBM? really?

Groups? Are they just wasting video time?

Blackberry has once proven to me they are even more behind smart phone tech than apple, things they have "added" are things iphones have had for 4 years and things droids have had for 3 years. Im sure plenty of business' will buy their phones still, but theyre not gonna get any iphone/android users. Just my 2cents
