getting paid enough to "live off of" is very subjective, and therefor hard to determine pro status from.

the way I see it is, does your SKI SPONSOR, (not any other sponsors) list you on their PRO team? or as an AM? I know many companies don't make a very clear distinction, but they should, and the ones who do, well, then you know.

And for the record, a lot of truly Pro skiers still have to work other jobs in the summer or even year round, making a living off of skiing is nearly impossible.
