Subject: Is it just me?
or do this years "amateur" ski movies look more promising then the big names?
No hate directed at the big guys like Level 1 and PBP.
These have to be the two best trailers i have ever seen and they both came from smaller groups of guys with, i would assume, smaller budgets.
Note: Few Words is not included in this argument.

i agree with you to some point but stept movies are different because they are all urban. urban being the most intense and super dangerous and requiring insanely large balls make the stept movies almost unbeatable in that regard. esk's trailer was very good too but i liked sunny's more

I think the smaller production companys have taken over the urban scene lately
we call front swap front 2s ellen d's cause they involve a lot of scissoring haha - .squirrely
Don't forget about Act Natural. Another great trailer from a small company.
I could be wrong, but is Stept still considered Amatuer anymore? They won Best Am movie last year, so I thought they moved up in the ranks, but idk.

Stept, I dont think, should qualify as amateur. Sure they don't have a huge budget (one that can compare to PBP, etc) but they've been making killer movies for several years with professional quality work.

pretty sure people say this every year. same in skating and in snowboarding. am movies just have a little bit more of grime and hunger to them so the trailers give you a little bit more. its not a "this year is any different" kind of thing. just the nature of things.

Good teasers have produced bad movies, bad trailers have gone along with great movies. Wait till seeing the finished product before judging.

NAhh they the same size, just that i didn't have any speed at all so i had to do anything to get speed... but at the bottem of every run i pull down the pants... -E-DOLLO.

there is just so much talent out there and with cameras and filming being so accessible there are heaps of smaller production ski movies coming out. personally im just as happy to watch edits and small production films as i am to watch say something by poor boyz.
and i agree with above sometimes the smaller production companies make films that are more relatable coz most of us ski bums arent rolling in the cash thats for sure.
the stept trailer is wild.
