"Cheap fisheye" While personally I would go for the Tokina I think OP's looking for that distortion. Not to mention it's half the price.

For skating and only skating I think it is a reason why everyone has a fisheye. I regret I bought a wide angle (sigma 8-16mm) instead of a fisheye for skating. That being said I think fisheyes tend to look bad because people over use them so much!

Rokinon 8mmm fisheye Tamron 17-50 Canon 70-200 f4

the canon 70-200 f4 was the one fromm canon for like600 and yes the fisheye will be mostly for skating unless and maybe a planed rail day like filming a rail jam and if i can get right up on the rails with them

and to everyone else what order should i get because i know the tamrons a great lense but i still have alot of skating left to film and the 18-55mm just doesnt cut it

riley poor

rokinon 8mm is the cheapest, reasonable fisheye. A step up would be a tokina 10-17 (NOT 11-16) or a sigma 10-20. There are a few fish options. As for tele, if you're using a t2i, nothing better for the price than a 70-200 f4.

They use them a lot and they use them in the worst ways...

if they are used correctly, they can end up giving a really cool look. you have to frame them up well though so they don't give improper distortion to the wrong areas.
Have a nice day, Bluename.

If you're just filming surfing once, you should just rent a 100-300 L

okay well it's not "L" because "L" is something Canon uses to distinguish between the glass they use in their lenses. Nikon uses the same glass in all their lenses. Also, 720p is not crap. There's not a huge difference between 720p from HDSLR's and 1080p from HDSLR's because they'll still be using the shitty line skipping method. When you shoot 720p on HDSLR's you get the option of shooting 60fps. 60fps is really nice for action sports because you can get nice slomo out of it.
That being said, there's only a couple of Nikon HDSLR's that have 720/60p, but it will be a long time before 720p is "crap".
Also, it'd help if you wrote a little more intelligently so we can better understand what it is you're trying to say.

False. Not really relevant to the thread and I don't want to start a shit storm. It's just a common misconception that I hate seeing. PM me if you want a source/proof/evidence.

The short answer is no. It is a killer lens for a great price.
Because I'm from the suburbs, not Compton. And you look like an idiot when you are all thugged out in the parking lot waiting for Mom to pick you up in her Lexus crossover.

We cant tell you what lenses you need for your shooting style just get what you feel that you need the most when you go out shooting with you kit lens.
If you feel that the kit lens quality or bad low light performance is holding you back when you film go for the 17-50mm, but if you are okay with the kit lens and feel that the reason why you want to upgrade is because NS tells you it is a crappy lens it is no reason for you to upgrade that now and your edits are not going to get any better just because you got a new lens with the same focal length and better quality glass.
And personally I would have bought a 70-200mm or 8mm fisheye before the 11-16mm because 18mm is pretty wide and can be used for follow cams but will not be as good if you film from a tripod a long way from the jump or when filming skateboarding lines.
