As a fairly large "place" it would have to be Africa. To narrow it down a bit more I believe the Selous Region of Tanzania, although I have never been there. From the tremendous amount I have read about it, I believe it would be my favorite place on Earth.

In specifics, I used to love Edisto Beach in South Carolina when I way younger. Used to love hunting for fossils and shit there.
I also love my uncles place at Lake Constance (Bodensee), he has a ton of oldtimers and a nice boat there. Pretty awesome in summer.

I would probably have to say Courmayeur in Italy. I went there on a school skiing trip last year and it was amazing. Because we were with the school it was pretty limited as to where we could ski and what we could hit but i had a great time there with all my friends and it was a laugh so currently it's this.

You need to go to barco hundito, and wednesday nights at aqua lounge, parties are unreal. Our first hostel was a shit hole crazy parties, but animals wouldn't want to live there, our second was amazing 21 bucks a night for sick private 2 person bedroom with its own private bathroom.
Imagine the best beaches in the world, amazing spring break parties on the water with people in bikinies and swings/ropes into the ocean, if blow and bud are youre thing 4$ a gram, super cheep food, awesome local hole in the wall fried chicken joints like .30 a piece.
Its super easy to get there man via costa rican and panamanian public transportation. Busses cost like 4-10 bucks for a 4-5 hours ride. Boat to bocas is cheep, boat rides to beached cost a few bucks round trip, boats take you to and from the bars on all the different island for 1$ a person, beer ran between .50$ and 2$. I paid 2.25 one and got really pissed.
Crossing the boarder is a breeze, the line is super long though-we payed someone to help us he took us to a back door and skip the line, same guy who busses us to bocas.

Nothing can really beat a good metal concert at SPAC that gets the whole place moving!
And of course the wonderful, clean lake I live on. Lake George!

just back from formentera, god i loved this place, cala saona is a small bay full with yachts, in the end is a beach full with naked chicks, at the side you have a shack that sells icecold cocktails for a reasonable price, and you also have nice cliffs to the left and right that are excellent for cliffjumping, rockclimbing (DWS) and snorkeling

you can also chill there at night, the beach is almost empty but there are still a lot of beach chairs for chilling, one night a little motorized dinghy from a huge yacht landed at the beach and the people in the boat told us to leave their beach, we just ignored them, then when they left we flipped their dinghy and covered it in a 3m tall tower of beach chairs :) it was a good time !
and my all time favorite is an unmanned refuge shack in arolla, in the swiss alps, it's called refuge de bouquetins and is situated inside a glacier arm, you cannot see any other human traces besides your tracks in the snow ....

Mount Desert Island, ME. Been going there almost every summer since I was born. Acadia National Park is located here. Great hiking, great climbing, great swimming. So many lakes to go to, so many mountains to summit, and so many cool seashore places to go explore. Plus, the weather is absolutely awesome. It's like the PNW of the east coast, minus a lot of the rain.
