I am trying to decide if i should get a tamron 70-200 f/2.8 or a canon 70-200 f/4L

My main concern is if its worth it to give up the 2.8 for the benefit of the canon quality l glass? i know the tamron is more expensive but i want to know which one s a better lens overall without the price as a factor at all

Thanks +k

Go Canon. There are stories of Sigma having good copies of their lenses, and bad copies. It really comes down to the luck of the draw. Unless your shooting inside or very low light conditions, the f4 will be fine. From what I hear, the Canon is just a better lens over the sigma
Because I'm from the suburbs, not Compton. And you look like an idiot when you are all thugged out in the parking lot waiting for Mom to pick you up in her Lexus crossover.

Though OP was talking about Sigma. Oops

I got to shoot with the Tamron a week ago. Nice lens, but nothing spectacular. Maybe I just have a different view because I only shoot with primes. Who knows.

I don't have any experience with the Tamron, but I absolutely love my Canon 70-200 f4.
