Editing software?

Subject: PC Editing Software
Hello Media and Arts! How are you this evening?
I came here to ask if anyone has recommendations for video editing software. I've been using OG Windows Movie Maker (Come at me), but it will not play GoPro files, so I need to move onto something new.
Nothing fancy or exspensive, as long as it will play GoPro files it will do just fine.
If there are already threads about this (which there probably are) please link me.

just torrent adobe premiere pro, its a great software. It might take some time to get used to. Use tutorials on youtube to learn how to use it.

OP, get premiere or vegas. premiere is generally thought to be better, and i can personally vouch for it since i have used both and prefer it by far. that being said, i found vegas to be easier to learn without watching tutorials or anything, and it also has the ability to ramp slow motion which i really like. it's not a bad editing system, but premiere is truly awesome and works seamlessly with all other adobe creative suite programs.
