A group of kids in grade 9-10 went to camp of champs for the second time this year. the first year they learned how to 360 and this year a few of them learned backflips. They all have top of the line equipment that there parents bought them and have their own filming thing called clearmedia were they use expensive cameras and editing software. they think there all pros and one of them won a grand worth of Oakley stuff for his horrible video.

i have payed for every cent of my ski gear so nothing could piss me off more then watching a shitty edit of some kids flailing their arms in there expensive ski equipment.

i can understand how even having the ability to afford skiing means we are in the top 10% of wealthy people and are very fortunate. And im not perfect i feel strong jealously when these kids get to go to coc to use the airbag and the pros as coaches its pretty much my dream to go there. my parents wouldn't pay for camp and if i ever go i would realize the value of the experience and get as much out of it as i can.

And BTW watch the longboard edits there decent but the editing is amazing

Don't hate man. Think about it as a positive life lesson sorta thing. People are always going to have better stuff and be a lot more privileged and that's not their fault they just got lucky. There are kids way less fortunate than you are so just take a more positive outlook on things man. Live and let live.

i agree with everyone, dont care about them. however if they are total assholes to everybody because theyre rich, i hate them. if theyre nice dudes, get in with that crowd and score some free trips to windells with them haha

Hmm I'm thinking OP is a member of Clear Media and all this is doing is promoting their edits as shown by the last post "check the long boarding video, the editing is amazing" a comment coming directly after he just ripped them apart. Suspicious...

Also, my little brother knows those kids, and they ski at COP in Calgary, and I see them around sometimes, they aren't assholes, just not the best at skiing

anyone up for some side booters?

It does get on my nerves a bit, but if they were able to spend that much money on equiptment, then they must be passionate. It dosen't matter what you do and dont have, its what you are willing to give, and you passion for the sport

I know some kids like this, it's kind of annoying but unless they're being obnoxious or disruptive or reall jackasses on the hill it doesn't really bother me...

when I was a little kid my parents were broke. I mean really broke, apparantly at one point my dad couldn't buy a 6 pack because I needed a hair cut that month. I always had shitty gear but was probably more spoiled than later on once my parents had money. Really. My parents worked so hard to get my family ski passes and into skiing programs back then. If your parents are both making 6 figures, then dropping 10 grand a season is nothing. If they are broke, then the bare minimum to get their kids skiing takes a lot of sacrifices and compromises.

A lot of my friends had wealthy parents and all the latest gear and none of us even really cared. Kids don't (didn't?) really care what the other kids were wearing, they just wanna ski.

My friend and I actually won that same prize in the same contest haha.

It was actually based on kind of overall feel and everything, and pretty much how much the judges liked it. Like some other videos got hundreds and hundreds of likes on Facebook, which was supposed to be factored in to the judging, ours got like 100 or 150, and yet we came out right near the top haha.

And their video that year was not made that well, this years was, but I'm not entirely sure how they placed so high. Judges must have loved it.
