Well to start things off, that song really bothered me. You consistently get such sick shots, you should put the same effort into song selection.
Work on trick selection, front 2s on small flat bars add nothing to an edit.
I like to see you doing more on the sound front, but I'd love to see you take it a step farther. Crank up the sounds and try to get them in throughout the entire thing. If you don't have a deadcat, buy one right now. Record some sounds separately and use them with the long lens stuff. Three takeoff sounds should last you for the entire summer.
Maybe film some people having fun? These are promotional materials for the camp, I would love to see kids enjoying themselves in Whistler.

I felt the intro was to long and boring. Think about the audience your trying to appeal this video too. A whole minute talking about the park isn't everything at the camp. You wanna sell it and keep the viewers attention.

In a tough love manner, Mr. Krieger hit the nail on the head; there's a lack of emotion. It's all just smooth slo-mo shot after smooth slo-mo shot.

but seriously that was a mean way to put it
yeah i feel like most of the stuff in your edits is all similar. For example in your edits your jump shots are all ride in on the side of the take off cut to angle on the knuckle its so predictable it makes your edits, honestly, boring. Switch things up, use the uniqueness of the area your at and get an angle only possible at this feature or resort. That will bring more composition, uniqueness, and more interest to your edits. Get more scenic shots in the middle of your edits to bring in the surroundings and bring a more natural feel as well.
P.S. Not trying to hate, just trying to give my input.

yeah agree with most of the comments, i thnk what would help is some "b-roll" capturing emotions and antics of riders, not just them all throwin down but some facial expressions to set the mood of the video and establishing shots like mentioned above also.
in technical terms your videos are solid, but in flow and entertainment not quite solid. some of those "b-roll" shots will help us connect with the riders or feature or scene more to draw us as viewers in rather than quickly getting used to seeing banger after banger after banger. maybe even throw in a crash or too sometime

If you can't stomach harsh criticism without throwing a temper tantrum then you need reevaluate your place in life.

The riding is sick and his shots are smooth, but the lack of soul, annoying cuts and crappy songs makes DTF's edits not very pleasant to watch.

on an unrelated note i see momentum still has no idea how to build lips for rails, at least they figured out a better layout for the steepness of their lane.

Nah just jokes, I hear you dude. I take everything into consideration when im making an edit and yes, I do agree most of my edits are all the same and trust me im trying to change it im just having a hard time getting out of my comfort zone.
Im trying something for session 2 that might be a little different to my old edits and I will try to grade it as well as pick a better song.
I also agree that some/most of the songs I pick are kind of whack but some of them I feel are chosen right such as:

I use to not cut and sometimes not have landings and that frustrated people like Brock so I tried to change it by getting double angles because shooting only from the knol gets boring and my park does not have very good spots to shoot from (black park winter time)
I have some time this week to freely shoot and I would love suggestions if thats going to make a difference to you guys and help me get out of my comfort zone.

i think getting tripod shots of a fast run into the jump, or an angle of the landing frame the back similar to the angle used in the breck jump segment in weight. More tripod shots less glidey follow cams. One of the reasons i don't have a huge desire for a glide cam is because i feel like there getting to played out. seems like thats all ski edits are now, people flying down next to someone with a glide cam. for me, i liked it a lot. I'm a total noob when it comes to cinematography but i think its fine to the average rider. i don't know enough about filming to criticize you, obviously theres always stuff to work on, but just felt i needed to say good job. i like your stuff.

The one thing that puts you ahead of others is that you have the most solid base of anybody else right about now.
You can make an edit that technically is nearly textbook perfection. I think this allows you to have so much more creativity at this point.
I'm excited to see what you do about shot variation, and especially color grading. I've been thinking about telling you to do some grading for a few weeks, but haven't gotten to it. I'm glad to see you're going to pursue it.

And dtf, I really wouldn't make changes to your editing style becuase other people want you too... You are the artist here, you make the decisions you feel comfortable doing. Simply following the directions of the people in this thread will dilute your final product into a mess of what other people want... It's your creation, and it should be what you want.
Read the criticism and take it into consideration, and most of all, experiment and dive into methods and ways of filming that you are not familiar with. Check out the footage and see how it resonates with you. Listen to some music. If you don't like it, trash bin and try again.
For me, it ultimately depends whether or not you are satisfied with the final product. Other people's thoughts should only be a small consideration, it's your vision and talents that will be creating the final product.
Get a Spotify premium account, use the radio to find some new tunes. Its very helpful and puts pandora to shame, I have come up with so many new song ideas from using it.

I actually really like your song choice, and your edits. Maybe they are similar, but then I guess if I like on I like all of them haha.
But seriously, I really really like that you don't put rap/hip hop music in all of your edits. I'm not that into rap and hiphop, and that is why many edits dissapoint me. One of my favorite edits is your WSI slopestyle finals edit with the TV on the Radio song.
This song is not my favorite, as it is a bit old, but I still liked it.
For the rest, I liked this edit, not my favorite, but still really enjoyable. Can't say why though, I don't know shit when it comes to filming and editing.
Since you guys were already on the topic of song choice, does anybody think a red hot chili pepper song would be good in an edit? Ive always kinda wondered that. Hope im not threadjacking

First you see the skier from behind. Super smooth shot, then you cut it right before he disappears behind the knol and then you cut it to a shot where you're standing on the knol to where the skier is coming just of the lip of the jump. It would be much more pleasant to watch the skier disappear. The viewer will be curious as to what happened, how he landed etc. I would then cut it to the last third of the trick till when he lands. That would be much smoother imo.

I thought that cut was perfect. I hate it when people show 3/4 of a trick then the other 1/4 from another angle because then something could have been off it both shots. I want to see 1/3-3/4 of the first angle of a trick then an entire take-off to landing with the other angle. Thats the only way that I can believe what is happening in front of me and to me it looks more impressive for this skier and filmer.
Zac I thought that was pretty good but I 100% agree with everything that Abe said in the first comment. I want to see more soul.
on a side note, the last shot of the chair lift and village down bellow fucking blew my mind!
